going on past match ups it will be frawley.... and i would love watching frawley decimate milne

I would be interested in seeing this, not just because I'd like to see the %$#@ist smashed and leave the ground in a number of pieces that exceeds five, but because I really would like Tapscott to be able to handle these small clever forwards in the future. I want to see that he has the pace and agility to shut these players down.

If he can then he's a huge weapon because we can start playing him on their most dangerous players and force them to play defensively on him when he rebounds, or simply get him to rebound on their poorest defensive forward regardless of how dangerous they are.

Is he up to it yet? Who knows.

I think with Garland being out, Frawley will play on Reiwoldt, which will be great to watch, especially since Reiwoldt pushes up the ground, allowing Chip plenty of chances to run and carry the ball.

For mine Bartram will most likely get Milne, and probably conceed 2-3 goals, as he does usually. If Tappy can get the job done though, that would be magnificant.

Kosi- Warnock/Rivers

Reiwoldt- Frawley

Milne- Bartram

Schineder- Tappy (a great match up IMO)

i'd prefer to see happy on a half forward flank or wing... i think we may see that in a year or so's time?

I think it's quite plausible, but it will depend on whether we can bring players in to release him further up the ground. Grimes is first in line to move out of defence.

I wouldn't have thought that Josh Hunt could be that sort of player either.

Ah yes, because someone with a build that's a little similar was able to become X player, Tapscott will too ;)

It is, however, a decent starting point when you don't yet have the evidence of seeing him play on him. We'll only know when we see it happen, which is why I said I'd like to see it happen.

why do we want to see him do it to milney so much?? id much rather he saved it for boomer harvey, daisy thomas, didak, ballantyne etc..........

We'd waste Tappy by making him play a defensive role. We need him to keep pumping the ball into the forward 50, so he needs to be on their #6 forward - McQualter or whoever.

I think Tappy works well on a back flank as when we have it in the forward line and the Saint are flooded back he ends up with the ball just outside 50... and BANG.

Definitely Bartram to Milne, the Tap for all his good graces, doesn't have the pace or agility to beat Milne decisively IMO and I think he would get caught out. Milne will probably end up with a few no matter who we put on him.

If someone else plays on Milne. Then Tappy can get a better run up to take him out. There is a nice red cross on the Saints jumper for the Bull to aim at.

Still not convinced Tappy is a Defender

Milne as a forward pocket is quite dangerous and Bennell would be my choice to play on him

I don't care.

He's a kid learning the game and he needs to learn to be more defensive and accountable for a damaging player.

No time like the present.

This is a development year, winning the game is secondary to ensuring the young players are completing thorough apprenticeships.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
