Scully says that he'll be back round 6. I don't think so

It's my experience that when footy players are injured they are generally unhappy - especially when he is 19 and gets idiot supporters constantly questioning everything about him, and everything he does, as if it were some sign of his intentions.

Yep good.

Op, you think it may just be that he's injured and he wants to be playing?

Look at what our poor Tom has to put up with...

Can the kid do ANYTHING right these days, without people questioning his every move and action?? FFS.

The article I read today said Tom very close to returning, will probably start running this week and miss the next 2 games, then we have a bye, then round 6 he'd be a likely starter if all goes well. Thats good enough for me, until I hear different from the club.

Did you remember to check his fingers to see if there was any ink on them? Non MFC approved ink maybe?

If I was him I'd seriously consider leaving just so I didn't have to deal with some of the idiots that support this club.

Agree 100%

The kid has a serious injury.

From what I am told his injury is general not an easy one to fix.

Now before you jump done my neck I have no inside information on Tom's knee.

But I have a couple of friends who work in the Medical / Physio industry.

They all tell me the same thing " Tom could be out for a considerable period"

One of them suggests "forget him till July " He has had this problem before

and then he has to get back his fitness.

That could mean not much from Tom in 2011.

If this is half true any wonder Toms is less than bubbling over.

Lets just get off his back.

When he is fit again he will play.

There are other more pressing problems for the club at present.

Like how come the President sounds more like the coach than the coach does!

i didn't start the post cause he aint smilin. I started it because he answered the question without conviction and heart. That told me that even he doesn't know what to do.

I'll sit you down in public and get 500 people to ask you the same question and see how long you smile for....idiot

God I hope Sculls doesn't read this bloody site, cause the things some people write on here make my skin crawl, can't imagine how he would stay if he read this s*@t.

Isn't the internet awesome for abusing strangers? Especially ones that folow your own club and whose heart is in the right place. Love it.

Agree I cannot believe the things people are writing on this site at the moment. It is scary to think how people draw conclusions out of thin air...

Between people like wacko maco and good ole America de Cali...wow....

Yesterday while collecting my scarf and horns Tom Scully was at the membership stall. I asked him how long it would be before he's back and he said round 6 after the bye. Yes at first i was wrapped but he didn't say it with conviction and certainty. it seemed an average answer. I have a quiet suspicion that the club might not be letting the kid play because he hasn't signed on yet. He seemed unhappy and wasn't smiling.

It will good to have him in the team against West Coast, but I just want the club to make sure he has recovered completely. It appears he came back to early to play against Brisbane pre-season.

If you have a quiet suspicion, keep it that way (keep it quiet).

I would argue that people who question the integrity of individuals at our club such as Scully based on their perception of tone don't have their heart in the right place....

Can just see the headline. SCULLY HOUNDED OUT OF MELBOURNE BY IRATE FANS. MONEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Complete tripe.

I remember speaking to Col Garland after he was forced to wear the moon boot for the second time, he didn't raise a smile either.

Of course Tom is unhappy, he can't perform that which he has trained his heart out for years to do.

You all act like these players are your best mates and you have to defend them at all costs. They arent and they dont read these boards trust me. They dont really care what supporters feel or say.

Not anyones mates...just simply taking what they have said on face value until proven otherwise....anything else read into is a total waste of energy and time. When he stays I wonder what people like America de Cali will do with their time then...

No, the internet is obviously awesome for badgering and blabbing about badgering 19 year olds about their future.

I guess it does pay to smile more.

Tom should probably work on his fake smile - try and keep the rumourmongers at bay.

Or he's just suffering through an injury, is fustrated and annoyed he is not currently playing.

And we're done here.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final.
