Black and Power to return. Good.

Very excited to see Tapscott coming on for his first run. Although I won't actually be seeing it.. Will be interesting to see how the backline holds up with no Garland (anyone know anything about his injury), Grimes or Batram.

Un-pleased about not seeing Blease- would have loved to see if he could play a running half back role as I feel he could be the talent we are screaming out for. What is wrong with him.

Hopefully the great un-washed don't feel it necessary to dish it out to Scully. Someone better be on head-butt patrol.

I really want to see Jurrah rested. An injury to him could cause major issues for our finals hopes.

Needs match fitness- although it's just a shitty NAB Challenge match he will probably be better for it. Can't exclude on the chance of an injury as it could just as easily happen in round 1 (heaven forbid)

Although in saying that would much prefer Jamar have a rest. Give Spencer a full match with Martin backing up. Injury to Jamar will hurt us most.

I tell you right now, if anyone does that near me they'll wish they hadn't. America de cali i'm looking at you!:D

TAPSCOTT! THE MAN WITH THE GIANT NECK! GO YOU GOOD THING!

it's always a bit sad though to watch a game that doesn't include Grimes. Makes me want to cry actually.

Happy with resting all of them. Can see both sides of the coin re Jurrah, he needs continuity to get match fit and get his body used to playing, however it will be a big case of fingers crossed....

Yeah really intrigued with how Tappy will go. If he can live up to half the hype then that will be a great start...

With the backline, i wouldn't be surprised to see Cook playing CHB. No Brown or Fev helps in that regard too.

Un-pleased about not seeing Blease- would have loved to see if he could play a running half back role as I feel he could be the talent we are screaming out for. What is wrong with him.

I believe that he may be another who is having his loads carefully managed. Not through injury, just taking a very cautious approach to ensure his body holds up. I don't have a problem with that.

Hopefully the great un-washed don't feel it necessary to dish it out to Scully. Someone better be on head-butt patrol.

I don't think anyone will.

Maybe we could also stop him from training? After all, he could do himself an injury there as well... and maybe we shouldn't have him play the first few games of season proper as we don't want him out of action for the business end of the season.

Sorry, but I really don't like these suggestions that certain players shouldn't go around because they might get injured... football is what guys like Jurrah do... let them play, let them enjoy it and let them get match fit.

No Frawley, Grimes, Garland (not sure why he's named in the squad) - arguably our 3 best defenders. Bartram out as well. I'd be looking to rest Jamar - he'll have such a big work load in the season I see no reason that he needs 4 practice matches. McDonald is miles off so I'd rather play others with more chance of making it in the round 1 team. Can't wait to hear how Gysberts, Petterd and Tapscott go. Also I think Cook and Nicholson are a decent chance to play AFL this year, I'd love to see them go well.

FB: Bennell Warnock Macdonald

HB: Strauss Rivers Tapscott

C: Jetta Moloney Bail

HF: Bate Watts Petterd

FF: Dunn Jurrah Maric

Foll: Martin Sylvia Scully

Int: Gysberts, Green, Spencer, Jones, Cook, Nicholson

Sub: Howe, Evans

Emer: Jamar, McDonald

I agree with your points, I just hate to see our players get injured in the preseason. It is probably good for him to play, but with his importance to the team it just worries that he could get injured in a 'meaningless' match.

I'm gonna go and take that BEX and have a lie down. Thanks for the tip, C & B.

Shattered I'm going to miss Tapscott's first hit out because I have to go to a wedding.

God people are so rude and selfish, scheduling their wedding on a day Melbourne plays a practice match! B)

Counting on the good folks at Demonland to provide a full match report.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
