Great stuff ! Is there any significance in no portrayal of a white shorts option with our traditional strip.

Posted

it looks awesome, but safe bet the clash jumper will cause controversy

The clash strip is as good as it can possibly be. Its the the traditional jumper with only as much white as is required. This board just keeps on kicking goals.

Great work linking the clash jumper to the MCC too.

Something I never considered.

(it's something we can lean on in future too, as justification in not budging on the design, if need be).

Both jumpers look great.

I like the way Thomo put it; Melbourne is football.

Pretty much agree with that

Given white was a given, this is the best design by far I have seen (assuming we are allowed to wear navy shorts). White kept to a minimum.

A very professional job

Loving the direction the club has taken.

Whether you like the new jumpers, or the new emblem, or whatever topic... the club is explaining the reasoning behind everything we're doing.

Feels good to be a part of a club that going places on and off the field.

I like both of the jumpers, wasn't sure about the mini Chinese flag on the back, but it'll be a new tradition, and it'll grow on me as more stars are added.

Clash jumper looks like a good clash jumper, can't complain.

Great job to all involved.

Tha new clash jumper has got nothing on last years. The demon on white was ok in my book, this new one is suspect at best.

As for the other changes, seems fine to me.

Brilliant! I love the new gear, and the way our club has set about explaining and promoting it.

Agree with all this.

Well done MFC on not just releasing a few photos here and there but actually making it an event and explaining the significance behind it all.

At first I was skeptical of the small red yolk but it is growing on me and I love the new collar.

Great stuff.

EDIT: I love the clash. Very tempted to buy both jumpers next year.

Love it! Going to be the first jumper I'll be buying since 1997 (my current Melbourne jumper has gone from red to pink...)

I guarantee we will be the first club to bring the collar back. You watch it come back over the years now. About time we set a trend.

Personally, I like this collar, but I really liked the neck on the 2010 jumper.

Can't please everybody.

Yeah, collar is good. Hate the Collingwood style collar

I like the circle of yellow stars. Great idea. Ii wonder if it is also part of our push into China. Looks a bit like the Chinese flag.... Intentional, Cam?

I think the stars are quite similar to what I've seen used on some soccer guernseys.

Can't remember where but I do recall seeing it in places before.

Either way, this symbolism is brilliant.

It lends the whole concept integrity and something to stand for beyond just "it's always been like that."

Well done, MFC! Love it all. Well done Schwabbie & crew! (But not sure about that effort of a beard, Cam! LOL)

Awesome jumper, I think the clash strip is a good result to. Hopefully they actually have a proper long sleeve jumper with the red cuffs to, instead of those crappy 3/4 sleeve that they have had for a while.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
