Sorry to indulge myself by writing this but my dear mum passed away on Saturday after a brave 12 mth fight with cancer. Mum is a 27 year member of this great club, as I am and a seat will be there for her from 2011.

My best friend is a client of Anthony Ingerson, many ardent supporters will be aware that Ingo runs his own construction company. I'd mentioned in the last day or two, to my friend, that Ingo was mum's favourite Demon. Ingo on hearing this volunteered his attendance to her funeral on Friday.

I'm not sure if that makes me indulge myself, my mum or Ingo, but I wanted to mention it anyway. I love this club, I love my mum and I love the selfless act from Anthony. My mum would be chuffed that he is turning up.

Thanks for allowing me to post this and thanks to Anthony. Thanks to the mighty Dees, who I might not be following without Mum.

Thanks Mum.

My thoughts are with you and your family mate.

Super effort by Ingo, always a gentleman. Ripper bloke.

I have passed on my condolences to you previously and reiterate them and acknowledge a fine act by Anthony.

Ingo, a champ and team-player on and off the field. Keep the chin up Hilly!

And thanks to your Mum for growing the Demon tribe

Condolences Demon Hill.

It's a nice to read about Ingo, one of my favourites too, so thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing & condolences mate.

I'm sure she would've loved that he was there.

Sorry to hear of your loss Demon Hill

It's strange you mention Ingo as for the last month Ive seen him just about every day at a job site In Brighton. I had a breif chat and he seems like a good bloke.

She sounded like a beautiful person my friend, I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

Cherish the good times, may she rest in peace.

Sorry for your loss. How chuffed would she feel to have the great man ingo in attendance.

So sorry to hear about your loss.

Glad you can find some solace in your love of our great club. No doubt your mum will be smiling down when she sees Ingo making a guest appearance.

All the Best DH, at least on friday you can be proud that The Ingo will be there paying his respects. Your mum will be stoked.

Be proud you follow a truly great club now and forever.....

Thanks Mum indeed.

Demon Hill, thanks for sharing.

Your mum obviously had a keen eye for playing talent, if IngerSole was one of her favs (god i hated hearing Dikhed rex hunt call him that)

But he was indeed a fantastic player for us, and it is great to hear that he is willing to show that kind or respect to your mum, and your family, at a time like this.

All the best from my family to yours.

I hope the presence of Anthony provides your family with some comfort, and maybe even a smile or two, on the day you give your Mum the send off i'm sure she deserves.

Regards,

faulty

condolences mate.

Good work by Ingo, was my favourite player when I first started going for the dees til his retirement.

Sincerest condolences and best wishes for the future.

It's been a sad week for the club but Ingo's gesture when many would not take the time is certainly something very special in a person.

X2.

Condolences on your Mother. Great act by Anthony Ingerson.

Condolences DH

A bittersweet time . Very thoughtful of ingo. A very decent gesture.

I trust your Mum to be resting peacefully now. Am sure she appreciates the seat too :)

That's really quite something, you don't attend a service lightly.

Condolences to you and your family, DH.

Ingerson is there representing us all.

Condolences to you and your extended family.

Demon Hill, thank-you for sharing. Beautifully written my condolences to you and your family.

Sorry for your loss.

And Ingerson was one of my favourite players growing up. Never did anything flashy, but always put the team first and was a great leader down back.

My Dad always tells me a true show of a man is someone who does something that they cant gain anything from.

Ingerson is clearly a mans man.

Demon Hill - Sorry to hear of your loss, cant be easy, but I too think your mum would of been chuffed with his attendance.

Thanks for the words everyone.

It was nice to have a chat to Anthony at what was a beautiful tribute to Mum.

Obviously only caught a bit of our draftees, Mum would be happy our 1st draft pick shares the name as one of her grandsons.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
