Let me clear it up.

This (whatever you want to call it) is the logo.

Now, there may a separate Demon logo later used for some things (i.e. how the Demon was on membership cards this year), but that image that I just posted is the logo for next year.

From Cameron Schwab's Tweet on August 7:

There may be a Demon logo as well as a secondary logo, much in the same way that this years membership cards had a Demon on them, but The Emblem is the logo.

If you have anyway of posting Cam's interactive video interview you will find that I asked him the exact same question about logo and Emblem. There is no such thing as a Logo in Cam's eyes. Its the EMBLEM for obvious reasons, coz that is how our theme song refers to it. Cam 100% confirmed there would be a new demon logo and stated it was the rehashing of a 60's design.

In another tweet/post/message (cannot recall) he clarified this whole issue and confirmed we would be "Bringing the Demon back" he also said somewhere that an old friend with a pitchfork would be making a return. This prompted everyone to think it was the '33 logo in my avatar. He confirmed this was not the old friend with a pitchfork that would be used. He said it was a demon he thought "was first used in the 1960's".. Some have alluded to the fact taht in our most recent 2011 membership campaign poster, the eyes of a new demon can be seen in the background.

I guess at the end of the day, we will all know soon enough!!

That's what I was getting at. The point is, it is the logo, again there may be a second logo (Demon) but this is the logo (it is just called "The Emblem").

Haha this is true. The socks' colour is more a "dirty red" and is not the same colour shade as that of the red V at all.

But, hey, the jumper looks great; the merchandise looks great; and I can't wait until all the stock is in and on the shelves in stores everywhere.

As emblems go its OK. Haven't got a problem with it. But if a club wants to tout its heritage and history then why bother change its emblem at all? Why not bring back our very first original one that was born with the club so we don't have to have all these useless debates and feel the need to change it when we get a new administration or go down in the dumps again.

Well said. The New York Yankees logo, for instance, says an incredible amount and means a heck of a lot with just two letters. And it means all that because it's been around for so long. Alternatively, some of the emblems of priemership league teams in England are very busy, but still carry that sense of history.

But this is the AFL, and the dees, and i will bet anyone here that the MFC will change the logo again within, say, 5 years. That's just the way it is for our club, unfortunately, because we haven't had the good sense to just stick with something that is ours through thick and thin.

And that's why I think it was probably a bit silly to try to create something out of the blue that could carry the kind of gravitas they were hoping for.

But that said, who cares, really? For me the true logo of our club, the thing that gives me that feeling of instant recognition and pride, is and will always be our home guernsey. If they try to change THAT, then it's time to picket MFC headquarters.

That blue is fantastic. It's, for want of a better term, "Carlton blue." Considering that's their only colour, they ought to know a bit about it.

One thing I did like about this years jumper was that the AFL logo was only on the red yolk, it didn't overlap. When the logos on the jumper overlap the patterns it takes away from the design which is key to the jumper, whereas if it is just on the red the design is much clearer.

Obviously with the "V" being sharper, the yolk is narrower and there will most likely be an overlap. I like the sharp V, however I would prefer if the top of the V started below the cuffs so that there was both a sharper V and no overlap.

I realise I am nit picking, but that's just my take.

On the logo, I prefer the more detailed one. In some cases the simple one is needed but I hope the club use the detailed version as much as possible.
