  1. Loving the awkwardness of Mathews having to commentate on this....and everyone else saying how well Clark is doing. Classic.
  2. Can't wait to see Jeremy Howe play a full game...total class every time he went near it last night (not that i was surprised). I reckon he's gonna catch some teams out this year...being matched up by the 3 or 4th best defender, he'll kick some goals. On a completely different note did anyone else notice the Age article (Steely Dees ground pies) with the photo caption..."Heath Shaw spoils Michael Hartley"....Apparently the pies where playing themselves last night???
  3. I love Chip Frawley, but I wish he'd shut up about Jeremy Howe (Leaner Melbourne Demons keen to keep it mean). With a lot of attention being paid to Watts, Clark and Jurrah I reckon he's as 'our ace in the hole' in the forward line this season.
  4. Do we have to win both matches to guarantee we go through to the next round?
  5. It's not about it being a corporate logo, it's about being single minded and professional - so we're taken seriously by everyone. Stand for something and stick to it! The logo/emblem (whatever you want to call it) looks like the people working on the design couldn't come to a consensus on what they wanted...so they kept everything. I agree that all those elements are important parts of our history, but having them cluttered together isn't really giving them pride of place anyway. It's just not focused or practical and I don't think it'll last the test of time because of it.
  6. I can live with it if this is just an emblem but at the moment it's being used by the club as a L O G O!
  7. Excitable & passionate about my footy club. It took the 0.05 seconds in the google search to realise this wasn't well designed...not much to consider hey.
  8. It wasn't carefully considered at all, I'd seen the logo before and seeing it again made my blood boil. The deisgner site was found when I was searching for a larger version of our logo on google images...it's the first new one that comes up when you search under Melbourne FC logo Exhibit A; http://www.google.com.au/images?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&biw=1344&bih=722&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=melbourne+FC+logo&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= Thank you very...next
  9. The best way to make a name for yourself is to win...that's how we'll establish ourselves now and in the future. It wasn't their (less complicated) logo with the Aussie flag that won them the premiership this year. I'm as proud of my club as anyone - if I wasn't I wouldn't be crapping on about the logo at 1am in the morning
  10. Those who know anything about the game know we created the rules, and those who don't wouldn't get this from the emblem anyway. Lets have some confidence, put a single minded logo out there and let our footy do the talking.
  11. we also have a club anthem, 12 premiership years, several previous names...but we don't need all of that on the logo do we?
  12. I'm judging it as a designer and a passionate melbourne supporter...and it's still a badly designed "sporting club" logo
  13. Only a totally untrained eye would compare these classic logos to our new emblem. Here's what some unbiased designers had to say; http://www.underconsideration.com/brandnew/archives/everything_but_the_stadium_sink.php
  14. Yeah cool, I like the ones with fancy detailed design on the box
