Yep... I think Jurrah did EXACTLY what the Dees would have hoped in front of the foreign crowd - he put on a clinic/exhibition.

When the Chinese think "AFL Football", they'll now think of one Liam Jurrah who captured their hearts one afternoon on October 17.

I can just see it, the kids of today will soon be specky'n on the shoulders of there mates at lunch time and instead of yelling the old "Jesaulenko", they're gonna be jumping up for that grab yelling "JURRAH". What a legend, and what a result today. All round I don't believe we could have gotten a much better result. We gave more experience to an inexperienced side, Jurrah hit some top form, China people will be excited by the game of AFL cause it was close, and they will love us cause we won and LJ is a god. The Chinese New Year has just updated it's details and states that 2011 will now be known as The Year of The Cougar

yeah he has a goal per game average that is as good if not better than any current AFL player at that stage of their career

yeah he also has a hand in as many others that he actually scores himself

yeah he always does it in spectacular style

yeah he has not even gotten to a primed match fitness yet because of injury

yeah he comes from a modest background compared to every other player, having not even worn boots until he was 17

not a bad prospect

Ha... Maybe we could just change "Chuck Norris" to "Liam Jurrah" on this site http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com/chuck-norris-top-50-facts

Pretty much hahaha!!

Can't do anything but admire this bloke- everyone knows where he has come from, and nothing fazes him. Nothing. Hes first game under lights at the G.. looked like a 50 game pro. First trip overseas, wins the game literally off his own boot.

A very special character indeed. This guy has MASSIVE heart- this along with freakish ability = potential to do anything!! He is ours and will never be anothers.

I'm pretty sure that one day Liam Jurrah is going to say "I'm going to kick 20 today, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop me".

Hopefully this occurs on Grand Final day, as we smash Carlton by 20 goals and I can proceed to die happy!

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
