Totally agree with this. IMO Sylvia has always been the player on our list most likely to be one of the competition's elite.

I really hope he's elevated into the leadership group next year. I reckon it's just the boost he needs - and IMO he deserves to be in that group too.

Yeah i'm a massive fan! It all depends on the teams performance we all know that the wining side gets most of the votes if we win more than we loose next year and he stays fit he has too be Melbournes biggest chance. But i remember alot of people also thought Brock Mclean was a certainty to win it!

In a very interrupted season he may well still poll around 12 votes....

He would be one of the main catalyst's in a very successful Melbourne team. Top four MFC - Col would be very close

It is good to see that his honest appraisal of himself last year was just that. His mind and body is right which is leading to him playing the football we all thought he was capable of.

A good pre season and there is no reason why he won't be in the top ten players in the league next.

That's if you can "pick" a number one draft pick. Any idiot could see that Adam Cooney was going to be very good.

Agree. Cooney oozed talent from day 1. Was the stand out No 1 pick in his draft year 2003 and has proven so ever since.

IMO Sylvia has always been the player on our list most likely to be one of the competition's elite.

More so than Trengove, Scully Frawley and Watts... WOW.

He should poll pretty well this year, votes are a good chance against Richmond (2-3), Brisbane (1-3), Essendon (3), Fremantle (1), Sydney (3) and Brisbane again (3).

Its a pity that together with some really good games this year, he has played some absolute clunkers. 5 weeks ago he was burning credits with some disappointing performances. Glad he turned it around. His efforts against Brisbane were very good indeed.

Col can really be a star for us. In his first 99 games he's probably had 10-15 absolute rippers. The problem has been his failure to produce that form more often, and injuries. He seems to be putting that right a little this year.

Col is one of those players that has that little bit of something extra that most players and teams would kill for. He's built as solidly as you would like, has power, speed, great mark (not just for his side, great mark full stop), good long kicking skills, and is tough and can win his own ball.

Hope he tears Richmond apart, a little like he did earlier in the year if I remember correctly.

I actually liken him to Stevie J at Geelong, probably didn't realise how good he was, had a rotten run with injuries, didn't have his head in the right place........teamates help him with a bit of tough love, coach has faitb and hey presto....superstar...

Got so excited by Sylvia's recent form, his pants blew up?

Serves him right for buying one of them new-fangled, computer pants! I don't go in for those kind of contraptions, myself. I like short shorts.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
