Once again i ask were is Bail, loved his first 2 games and than not really sighted or talked about since!

Dunn is in for Watts and can also help Miller as a back up ruck.

Miller is a spud. Should be kicked out the door. Just a waste of development space. Watts adds more to our team structure than crusty miller.

According to the match report he copped a blow to the face in the first quarter and didn't return. The only thing keeping him out of the side at moment IMO is his ridiculous run of bad luck.

Who played better - Rivers or Garland?

Who do we bring in if both Jones and Junior are out injured?

How do we devewlop Watts if we don't keep playing him?

Are we all now fully convinced that Miller is 1) not up to AFL standard, and 2) not part of the MFC future?

Both Rivers and Grland were ineffective but Garland is required to match up on the Pies midsized forwards.

McKenzie and Bell if it is Jones and Junior gone.

Why do people think you cant develop a player at Casey. Watts needs to learn to play agaianst matured bodies in a key forward role. I dont see why that is not possible in the VFL.

I did not need the weekend to be convinced on Miller.

Both Miller and Watts have been woeful for consecutive weeks, but only one needs to be dropped as there's only one genuine forward pushing his case at Casey (Dunn). I chose Miller because at least carrying Watts has the side benefit of experience injection. Carrying Miller gives us no added benefit whatsoever.

In: FRAWLEY, McKenzie, Dunn (can't not reward someone who kicked 8)

Out: Jones (inj), Rivers, Miller

On the same wavelength I see - post #2 :)

I think you can show a bit more respect for someone who has given his all to the MFC, keyboard hero.

I think we should get off Millers case,,, he's a support act,,, NOT the Main Act. He'll be a lot better playing 2nd or 3rd string.

Until we get a pack splitting forward who can mark over head, IMO miller will be needed.

Watts will START TO show a little bit next year at AFL level,,, especially with Jurrah sharing the forward space & defenders..... This then brings players like Miller into proceedings & that will create openings for our small forwards & hard running midfielders to score as the opposition is preoccupied with our tall attack. As long as Miller remains composed next year when he's kicking to score, I think he'll be OK.

Dunns handy, but predominantly as a run with, except in conditions like yesterday.

The trick will be to get our Rucks to Go well when forward, this would be the Icing on our cake. (Jamar/Spencer/Martin/Fitzpatrick///Gawn?)

PS: I reckon next year we'll try to acquire a strong tall forward through the trade or Nat Draft route. That should round out our forward list places,,, except maybe for a dynamic small forward type, if there's one available.

A banana fritter would add more team structure to the MFC than "crusty Miller."

Seriously I envy the bloke- is not AFL standard and gets to have a run around and a laugh with the guys where if fate had him drafted at any other club, he would probably either be a tradie or a Target model by now.

When he was a presence it was when he wasn't the sole presence. He was and still is a social loafer. I'm a social loafer too. Where is my MFC gurnsey?

Miller I'm callin you out. You have no heart. You shirk responsibility and follow, not do- when you are in prime position to 'lead by example'.

Disagree, and that's far too harsh a call.

He just has minimal talent.

Best Post ive ever read on this site hands down. Couldnt have said it better.

out: Miller, Watts, bennell/Jetta, Jones (inj), Mcdonald(inj)

in: Dunn, McKenzie, Strauss, Wanna/Maric, Frawley

Miller and Watts (unfortunately) just cant play this week going by last fortnights efforts so we may have to go small in the fwd line with Dunn playing deeper as well. Strauss and Wanna have only been serviceable i know, but we cant keep playing guys in the seniors who have 0 impact week in week out.

I didn't think I'd say it either but tell me who the other mid to come in is if Jones and Junior are out?

I'd give Grimes and Strauss a run in the middle, along with McKenzie and bring in Cheney to replace Grimes.

Cheney has worked his butt off for weeks now and deserves a recall, and if Jones and Junior are out then it is the perfect opportunity for us to give some guys a run in the middle.

I love Bell for his endeavor and heart, and I've been a big supporter of his, but in all honesty he is not good enough and we shouldn't waste development opportunities on him.

McKenzie adds something to this team that his non-performance at Casey belies. His tacking and in-and-under, quick-handball-out-of-the-pack work is something that this team really needs. Bring him in and leave him there until that stuff disappears, because it is so important to the way we play.

INS: Frawley, McKenzie, Dunn

OUTS: Watts, Jones (inj), McDonald (inj).

I could understand Strauss or Cheney but only if Grimes goes to the middle. It is alot to expose too many kids through the middle at once against a mature midfield like Collingwoods.

If you're going to play Bell, it has to be in the backline.

He will do alright on one of Collingwood's smalls, but I don't want him in the middle.

At one point or another you have to expose these kids to the real stuff, and to be honest I think Grimes, Trengove, Mckenzie and Scully can all hold their own. They haven't taken a backwards step since they started, and they'll still have Moloney and Jamar there, and probably Green and Bruce on the outside for support.

Well McKenzie was named in Casey's best yesterday so that is a good starting point.

If that was indeed the case then that's fantastic and he probably deserves to return to the seniors. We'll need his tackling and solid frame in the middle against the pies. I'm all for him returning if he's in-form because our team performs better when he's playing well.

Dunn deserves a recall this week to. I'd say bennell comes out for dunn. Leave Jettain ahead of Jamie IMO.

Nostradeemus, I'm calling you out. You have zero understanding of how hard a worker and great a team man and leader Brad Miller is. You are a petty, small man with not 1% of the ability Brad Miller has, who makes himself feel like a big man by unjustfiably hurling abusing at men you claim to support from the safety of the stands and a keyboard. You should be ashamed of yourself, you're pathetic.

It's a fine line bewteen getting much needed games into a player and at the same time protecting his pysche. Watts mustn't play QB imo. It won't do him any good and after his last two games he doesn't deserve to play. It was again pointed out to me today that he's yet to have a decent preseason, so there are valid reasons that are hindering his progress, bu he needs to go back to Casey and find some form and confidence.

As for Miller ? I have no time for him whatsoever. He has no heart.

Posted

The main "change" I want to see is for the club to show up in the first quarter and have a fair dinkum crack. Frawley and McKenie would be nice but it won't mean anything if we just run around like headless chooks and allow the Pies to kick 7-8 goals in the first quarter to essentially finish off the game.

Pathetic is complimentary. Disgraceful limp excuse for a character mate. You think you are the same as Miller (social loafer, apparently) and by chance he played 131 games of AFL... what's the most notable thing you have done? You clearly have no idea how the club works, because if you had seen Brad Miller around the supporters, kids and sponsors, you would retreat back up your rectum. He has more heart than almost anyone in the AFL.

Play the ball, fair enough. You think he should be delisted. Fine. But show some respect to a person. You too Stranga. If that's the single best post you have read, then you need to go use the internet for its intended purpose.

Jetta was fantastic in Darwin and was very good v carlaton. esp in the second half and showed clean hands. I like that. Unbelievable some have him out.

Out: Jmac, Jones, Bruce, Miller

In: Frawley, Mckenzie, Bail, Dunn.

Joel Macdonald if Bail still isn't ready.

It's unbelievable that some have Bruce out as well. Cops a fair bit of stick and some of it is justified but he is far from our worst and, let's face it, he won't be dropped.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
