Until Scully improves his kicking give me Trengove any day.

If he's still kicking like he is in a few years time we will be regretting his selection, no matter how good he is going.

and the winner of the "Mr negative award goes to . . . . "

my god man go to bed . . . or have a [censored] . . . . do something please to release some stress because you could get a tumour with an attitude like that :)

That statement has to either be a joke or from a very bitter & Twisted Richmond supporter.

Tomjack Scullgove will be the best AFL player evah!!!! Too bad we had to give up two picks and tank for two years straight in order to get him.

I know, it's like choosing between Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba, but go on

Jessica Alba for me!

I vote for Portman. Where is that option in the poll?

I was going to make some wisecrack along the lines of "I'd still choose...." then came back to the same predicament - I can't decide between the two.

Don't really want to anyway.

Well naturally the club has gone down the best path and chosen both. Really, can anyone deny that Portman and Alba at the same time would be a great thing?

I'd say both, but I've already been there.

The pretty ones just lay there.

No joke at all.

Scully has to improve his kicking, it's not a minor weakness, its a flaw.

If he doesn't improve his kicking then in 5 years time we will all be saying why didn't we take Dustin Martin.

It will be like StKilda supporters formerly fustrated over Luke Ball (well at least Scully can kick 50 I suppose).

I know its harsh, but I don't mind speaking the truth about our younger players. I wish them all the very best but I'm not overly emotionally attached to them, they aren't my babies like some people seem to think of them. And it is the reason I rate Trengove more.

jessica alba all the way for me. Seriously hot..... She is number 1 on my list of allowable alternatives to my wife :-) (thank you Ross from 'friends' forr coming up with the list concept!)

oh and JT goes ok too. Will win many a game off his own boot as he did in last years SANFL prelim last year. Serious man crush there

maybe Jessica could be convinced for a menage a trois...........

Scully's handballing reminds me of Grep Williams, incredibly creative. Trenner's all round high level of skill closer to Buckley.

I hope Trengove becomes more like Voss, Than Buckley!

We didn't tank for 2 years straight.

There's no-one called Tomjack Scullgove either.

That above picture is just so inspiring to this club. Godamm we have come along way since 2008.

No. It's a minor weakness. His kicking can at times be really, really good. It will never be Sylvia-like... but why does it need to be when you have that engine, those hands, and that ball-winning ability?

Put it this way. Hodge is by far the better kick between he and Judd. But you'd lose nothing by playing one for the other, in terms of quality.

I've seen nothing to make me believe Scully will be marked down because he's only a "good" kick and not an "elite" kick. When he's bigger, fitter, older and has more time he'll look a lot better. Just like every kid we've played over our bottoming out period who looked devoid of skills, then suddenly, magically discovered those skills in 2010.

Actually... it's startling how similar Scully and Judds' delivery is.

One of my highlights from Saturday night was when Scully disposed of the ball near the centre of the ground, and was hit late, I'm not sure by who but he looked to be at least a KPP size, Scully recieved a free and advantage was called as the ball was moving quickly into the forward line

What the TV missed was Trengove come flying in a bump the player then grab him and let him know that if he wanted to go on with it he was happy to sort him out. Again I'm not sure who it was, but he would have been at least 10cm taller and about 15 kilos heavier, but Jack was straight on the front foot.

Jack looks a leader. Every time he came off the field he was absolutely spent. Probably worked the hardest on the ground. I've heard the Buckley/Hird comparisons, but after seeing him on Saturday night I'd say I was looking at a young Todd Viney.

Scully worked hard, but needs to do some serious work on his disposal. Cost a couple of goals.

serious work? you've got to be kidding.

I picked jack, only because tom's got big ears. The best part of the whole thing is we havent even seen tapscott yet. He's the one I'm really excited about. The teams that overlooked luke will be kicking themselves. God i love having so much talent at Melbourne. So much ball winning talent and run. Exciting times ahead at MFC.

I've got a mate who works with the Crows and watches A LOT of junior footy and he reckoned Tapscott was a steal at 18. He thought he would be a lock for top 10.

So we still have 2 more untried GUNS in Tapscott & Gysberts yet to make the senior side???

How awesome the next few months just might be, not to mention the next 20 years. B)

You might not remember but before the draft I asked a question about a Sth Aussie kid we had spoken to a day or so earlier but I never got an answer. The reason was that my mate was saying that there was a kid that he rated highly and that could be one of the best, but as he worked with the Crows he couldn't tell me his name except to say we had just had talks with him (the kid). Anyway, after the draft I pressed him on it and he replied: "You got him at #18 and you've got an absolute bargain". I think he is pretty dirty he is not on the Crows list. :)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
