Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

how do we get MFC supporters to the Geelong game

Recommended Posts

How can the Club encourage suporters to the Geelong game at Skilled Stadium. A couple of years ago the Club put on a Melbourne train to Geelong. Should we also encourage the Club to somehow make tickets available in a certain area for Melbourne supporters. (I'm not sure that is feasible). Geelong gets such a bias from umpires because of the numbers of supporters. Any ideas?

I have just purchased 2 tickets for the Ron Hovey Room behind the glass.

Unfortunately there is no upgrade on MFC membership tickets so the price per ticket is quite high.

I am really keen and looking forward to seeing how the boys play against Geelong and how they match up

Ticketing at Geelong is a case of first in first serve and trying to get the best seating that you can I am afraid!!

A couple of years ago I got seats amongst the Geelong Members once, my mate (from Geelong) wanted me there to bag me out all day.

We won by a kick after the siren.

One of the great days of my life.

I was in the cattle pen in the south east forward pocket that day - $50 for a carp seat - but it was worth every cent to hear the cow cockies howl at the end.

A mate of mine emailed me saying for $26 you can get a reserved seat behind the goals. Tickets now selling. Get in quick as they will be snapped up fast I think.

I looked at all reserved seats and the cheapest I could get was $55...opted for the $26 GA option instead

I like going to Geelong to watch the Dees. I love Geelong, and I can at least handle their supporters. I don't feel anywhere near as intimidated as I have at AAMI or Subiaco.

Probably won't go this year though.

Dang...I fail the internet

last year we had to stand amongst 99.99% Catters. Previous years we got seats through the geelong DEMON suppoter group but there are only 100 seats allocated...very poor IMO. Train from Southern Cross only 1hr...better than going by car.

As others have said, tickets for the general public are pretty limited, and those that are available are typically pretty pricey.

Gen admission means standing, unless you get there exceptionally early (ie. when the gates open, or not long after).

I went last year. It's a freezing dump of a stadium packed full of morons. I won't be going back.

Would not bother. Likely to be smashed too after coming back from the Darwin heat and Humidity. We are likely to be flat as.

You're not very good at the internet. Just booked reserved seats behind goals for $28 each (inc. handling fee).

I have home & away membership & tried to get seats on net today. They wanted $97.00 for 2. It wouldn't let me enter the bar codes on my season tickets.

That's why Geelong clean up at every game down there-it stinks. Every cent goes to them. Lucky Bastards.

You couldn't figure out how to enter the barcodes, or you entered the barcodes and they weren't accepted?

If it's the former, you need to ensure you select the right event when you click 'find tickets'.

If it's the latter, are you sure they cover this match? I'm pretty sure the '16-game membership' includes our 14 games at the 'G and the two matches at Etihad.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
