I thought he played well today too. But I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a 'very good footballer'. Average at best. Can't see what you've based that comment on.

can't speak for rollo2, but we are related and I think he knows what I know...

bartram and dunn had the very best coaching/training from their junior years...

they are team, team, team players and we need them if we are going to win that elusive premiership...

I doubt the rest of our team are not team players.

I also doubt these two will be there when we lift the cup.

Calling someone a 'very good player' based on one game is a bit rich. Especially considering a lot of his other games have been mediocre.

Like I said, a good game, and he keeps his spot no question. But I wouldn't go calling him anything more than an average player.

Well for some here who say he is a butcher he shut them up.

And he hasn't played one good game, he's actually played a good season - his first one before he did his ankle against the Crows.

This win is great! It is great for confidence, 4 points, and good memories.. However, if we keep making basic skill errors under pressure we will NEVER beat a top 4 team.

Bigger picture people. 4 points great but bigger picture... hopefuly we will have the confidence of gods for next week and the week after... Go Dees!!

I'm sick of this attitude.

There you are in your comfortable self-righteousness looking down at the rest of us - the easily pleased unwashed - and saying that we don't see the "bigger picture" and that we will never beat a top 4 team when we make basic skill errors. 'No sh!t' to that last part but come on, we are talking about beating top 4 teams now? We are talking about making a semi(which is the reward for being 'top 4')?

We have won the last two wooden spoons and won one game in 2010 with a team that is younger than Rd 22, 2009. Enjoy the up and down year (mainly the last one) where these kids develop and fail, and start to fail less, and start on their way.

Fans looking at the "bigger picture" just want to sound like the sane one in the asylum with the foresight to know what areas need to be improved and what problems we are facing.

Hey! I know that stuff, but I am going to enjoy the sh!tty win against the Crows and the gallant loss against Collingwood.

This season is all about seeing the team try and fail (they just are not good enough yet) and I am going to enjoy the ride.

Who is with me?!

I have to say, we very nearly did beat a top 4 team. Had a couple of umpiring calls gone the right way we would have taken the Pies. Nobody can say they don't qualify as a top side.

So yes, I am very much with you and happy with what we saw on the weekend.

Not me! I propose to start a thread every other week saying we should sack Yoda, and on alternate weeks saying we will win the flag.

I hate being bi-polar. It's fantastic.

I'm with you totally. These guys are incredible, the instant, the exact moment we stop being the league's whipping boys and looking a team that might emerge from the bottom 4, they start being critical and underwhelmed that we are not premiership contenders. There will be occasions this year where we put in a shocker and get done badly, you watch these heroes come straight out and tell us how right there were. ONE STEP AT A TIME BOYS. OUT OF THE BOTTOM 4, MAKE THE FINALS, PUSH DEEP IN THE FINALS, GRAND FINAL DAY. We are on a long road and ahead of where we should be right now and when you look at our games per player stat combined with the players we have out combined with the young talent that hasn't even got started yet and the picture is very, very good. You hear me talking Rhino?

This was in an article on the Herald Sun site

Melbourne Best: A Davey J Bennell L Dunn M Warnock R Bail M Bate J Frawley

To be honest i think they have got that wrong

Seems a bit churlish of them to have left out Junior. And the Russian played well too.

I'll take it as comes. One win at a time. I've been a supporter for 46 years and every time we've been rated as something we've always come down with a thud. The year that eats my craw the most is 1990 when Collingwood won the flag. The Dee's were widely regarded as favourites before the finals. The draw between Collingwood and West Coast gave us another week off to high five and congratulate each other before the Dee's blew it in a shocker against West Coast. The only reason Collingwood won was because Melbourne wasn't in the GF.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
