Said "We'll stick to our gameplan"

Gameplan??

I was there sunday night - and if flooding the backline so there is NO players in our forward half (this at the 10 minute mark of the 1st quarter, scores level!!) and the oppostion can just keep driving it in until they kick a winning score - is the 'gameplan'..

then fear not..

the extra year on baileys contract mentioned today will just be token, as it has been with so many coaches before.

Pretty much every question Bails was asked he just brought back to the usual line that he's been putting out there.

"kids haven't played much together..."

"these things take time..."

"Watts is a few weeks away from full training, we don't care for Niknat comparisons"

Ox asked him a question about Max Gawn which was worth hearing, said they reckon he'll be worth keeping an eye on when he debuts this year hopefully, pretty agile considering his height.

Overall, a good interview but you didn't really miss much you wouldn't have heard before.

Said the players are keen to atone this week against Essendon and they left no stone unturned in their review.

Bails was talking about how last September he presented to the board for 3 1/2 hours his vision for Melbourne and where we need to be with the current list and not being able to do too much in the next couple of compromised drafts. He also dispelled Gerard Healy's rumour that Jack Watts will be out for 12 months,he said Jack will increase his training load in 3 weeks and at the moment he hasn't got the body that he needs as a key forward and that Brad Miller's body has had the luxury of 6-7 years of preseasons.Jack will be playing very soon and he'll probably roam inside 50 and let Miller and Bate take the key defenders. He also spoke about his contract being extended another season and that the board has shown faith in his vision. He said Maxy Gawn is running and should play mid year.

He expects a much better showing on Friday and that the review yesterday was very scathing and each player knows where he stands and that if players need to be dropped, they will be as we have more depth and if you need to find form, find it in the VFL.

Overall,a typical coaches interview.

I enjoyed hearing Ox getting excited about the Dees.

He loves the Dees, and he'd love to see us up and flying again.

Has anyone ever learnt anything from a Dean Bailey interview?

It's not worth tuning in.

I just listened to the podcast and it was worth it. No BS and a couple of interesting comments. But if you like staying ignorant then who am I to stop you?

I agree olive hill! With every interview he does it's the same old dribble!! As a member we should be getting more out of our coach when he speaks.

I also agree, hasnt said anything fresh or enlightening in at least 12 months. Even Daniher seemed to have more intensity in his tone at times and he used to annoy me.

Bailey has had one message from each interview, he sticking to the plan. This may seem stubborn to you but he is trying to build a winning team with a winning game plan and he isn't deviating from that path. It's gonna take a little patience, but from outside the club I feel like the club is in the right hands.

If you want sound bytes from a coach, then go follow the filth !!

Yeah he needs to be fresh and enlightening for you stranga. This should be his priority.

Maybe give us a recipe or two, sing a little, even a monologue.

I simply demand more entertainment from our senior coach.

His approach doesn't overly concern me as there's probably not a lot he wants to give way, but I simply make the point, he's not worth listening to and if one expects any revelations they'll be disappointed.

But hey, those supporters that hang on every last insignicant word, go for it. I'm all for enlightening the average supporter. ;)

Perhaps he should be telling us that he has already concluded Trengove will be the best player of this generation, is that what you want to hear?

I'd be more concerned if his message and plan started change and was reactionary.

Bailey is the type of coach we NEED.

Only the short-sighted cannot see that.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
