Looks like he'll be in PSD trying to get to Freo. He'll head there tomorrow to train with them. They reported that he was only 26 on SEN but I just checked his birth date 6/10/1982 on the bombers site. Any chance?

big chance to get to Freo. Would not rule out Richmond, can play at either end and what other choices will be there at PSD time?

Frees up a bit of salary cap for them if they want Ball doesn't it.

Wouldn't fit in to our plans.

One of the most over rated players going around. Never plays well in big games and he turns it over when put under the slightest bit of pressure. He is a total dud and I will cry if he comes within two miles of our club.

well done on McPhee...he got his three year deal...freo and McPhee have both won out of this deal...he's not there yet...but he should go there.

bombers are the real losers in this deal...if they get ball for pick 24 or pick 26 ...plus lose McPhee...mclean was worth pick 11...which is now starting to look like a good deal for us.

Woudn't be upset if we picked him up in the PSD, could do much worse than McPhee.

What role would McPhee play at MFC given our list?

Bombers will go backwards this year. Not just because of McPhee, but it won't help them either.

Why?

Yawn.

Never been impressed by him.

Still scratching my head trying to figure out how he ever got All Australian one year...

Must be a good player then.

He also won the Bombers B&F in 2004 as well as being Essendon's highest B'low vote winner in a team that made it to the AFL semis. A fair achievement. Probably off that standard now but a good pick up for a young Freo

If he is the Best player in the PSD the MFC should have a good look at him, otherwise walk away.

I agree. I think he is an over rated player but still would be better than most on our list & still has at least 3 - 4 years left in him. We could do a lot worse.

I hope we take him. He would be an automatic inclusion in our side next year and he has the ability to play all over the ground.

I am not a real fan of McPhee but he would be an accretive acquisition. He is likely to be the best available player in the PSD and he is not putting a price on his head above market value.

At 27, with his athleticism and with two new clubs coming into the competition I see no reason not to give him three years at market wage.

Fremantle are hardly any closer to a premiership than us.

Would you have said last year that Trav was a good player?

Enforcer said he has never been impressed by McPhee and cant work out why he was AA. His performances in 2004 and the accolades/awards that followed were clearly recognition of his performance in that year. He was very good in that year. I have recognised in my post that he is not off that standard now. I have already questioned another poster as to where McPhee fits in our side. I dont think he is a fit for us and where we are going.

As for Trav? What you see is what you get. Seems to excite you with what he can offer but goes missing and melts when the heat is on. I have always recognised Trav's talent but his mindset and attitude means he has been and always will be a flawed gem. He is also a culture negative. I think a few of his performances late last year were a case of playing for a new contract. Over the course of that contract, Brisbane would be watching Grimes closely and saying "if only"

I don't think best available applies to the same extent with the psd. In the psd he'll have a 3 year contract at reasonable $$ on his head. He might be the best available but he's not worth a 3 year deal to us at this point in time IMO, i'd rather us take a punt on someone like Thorp with the last spot on the list.

I wouldn't give McPhee a second thought.

Ask an Essendon supporter - he is inconsistent and unreliable. He is 27 .. with a history of injuries - and he is holding out for a 3 year contract because he is concerned that he might start to struggle in year 2.

Subject to his training form - and attitude - Thorp has an upside that Mc Phee doesn't

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
