Brock was a good player but was never going to be a star. I think he actually did us a favour

I think so too. So those that are winding up the venom... please don't.

All the indicators have pointed to the MFC being totally committed (unlike some other, failing, teams...) to the re-build.

Don't falter now.

Complete dog and Pick 11 better be a good player. I'm actually fuming. Can't wait to see Moloney clean him up when we verse Carlton next, and coincidently I have mounted a strong case for Beamer to be our next skipper.

Agreed and agree !!!

Jaded, I'll give you Jurrah and maybe Aussie.

But I won't give you Bennel or Jetta.

Jurrah might be worth it himself though. I'm also realising how little I actually did care about Mclean. As soon as the idea of losing Davey came about it's all I've thought about.

Davey won't go anywhere. We have a good Aboriginal culture at the club. Even if worse comes to worse and he does want to play with his brother, we will get the bombers first pick for him, number 10.

That would be just, wow

wow.

but it won't happen

You still have to draft good players. We don't want to ed up like the Tigers in 2004, they had 5 in the top 20, and are currrently considered to have the worst list in the AFL.

Odd call. I think Bennell is going to be a superstar. He'll take a while to get there, but it'll be worth the wait. Jetta i'm not sure on.

Aussie was Davey's date to the Brownlows FFS, those two are very very close.

Bennell and Jetta might not be as dependent on Davey, but there is no doubt that Davey (and in previous years Whelan) has helped these indigenous boys when they first arrived at the club.

Either way you're right, we need to do whatever it takes to keep Jurrah happy

Mate, they're cattle to me unless they're a star.

And don't believe everything you hear just because he got one right.

People are passionate for the club H. We also want our Footballers to be passionate for our club. If thier passion wanes some of us want to know why.

Well if that how you see so be it.

But im a bit different, discounting the duds.

If Aussie would leave the club for Davey leaving, then there are serious issues over him.

Will he not be able to play if Davey doesn't?

its a good trade. i liked brock but beamer and jones can fill his role and pick 11 could prove to be a real winner. 3 of the first 11 players coming our way. ill take that.

on another note, does this make my brock future captain mcleaned signed jumper more or less valuable? will swap for beer... no midstrength

Trade too many players and lose the fabric of the club and the side, we wil fail, DB is failing, MFC is failing. Pray it stops.

I feel for you man, brock being your fav player and all.

I think you should have a bit of a break and deep breath though.

1. Scully = certain star

2. Trengove = certain star (would be ok if we took Martin or Rohan)

11. Talia = AA CHB, can play forward

18. who cares, maybe use as part of a trade

That is the number one reason to keep Davey.

I don't think our future premiership depends on Davey's on field performance, but if he helps Aussie, Bennell, Jetta and most importantly Jurrah, than his worth is that of four players.

Davey is the best link our club has to these boys, we just can't afford to lose him.

Like some here on Demonland, the club probably thought that Brock was expendable, and they secured a good pick for him.

I would have thought that Davey is not expendable though and the club will not be so willing to part ways with him unless something exceptional was on offer. He can hardly walk out ot the PSD can he?

I can't have it either that players would be upset over the CJ incident, that to me is ridiculous. They are well paid professional athletes, small incidents like that probably happen in non professional teams all over the country in all sports, and i doubt they would cause major rifts.

Agree. This makes our club look even worse as well. I will cop so much [censored] for this.

Unbelievable. Shocked at the news and I've always backed him up when people tell me he's no good. Let's just hope we can pick up a good player at pick 11 then. I guess it also frees up more spots in the midfield.

Posted

What's funny is that many Carlton supporters on fan forums are [censored] off for giving up pick 11 and Dees supporters are [censored] off for only getting pick 11.

We'll have to judge this in 5 years time.

this is the happiest day of my life.......:):):):):):):):) good luck to brock getting a game at the blues...hes gonna need it

I really don't get why players would be upset with the club over CJ. He is a mediocre player who opted to go about things in entirely the wrong way, brokered his own deal behind his club's back and walked out leaving them with no compensation other than his absence. What did anyone at the club do that could be considered unreasonable in the circumstances? Did they not throw him a farewell party or something?

Well. I'm gonna have to change my name then. I'm gonna make sure it's not a player this time cause I'm clearly cursed. What a difference a year makes, second in the B&F playing about half the year touted as captain the recruiters said that they wanted midfielders to help out McLean now he's been sacked.

I'm disappointed but not surprised in the end probably one of either McLean, Moloney or Jones had to go I thought it would be Jones but I suppose McLean has the most currency.

I may have to rethink our chances for the 8. I don't think Moloney and Jones have the football brain to step up a level to be very good footballers next year while I thought McLean would the rest are babies in Scully, Trengrove (has to be a certainty for pick 2 now) and Grimes.

With the way McLean played this year I think pick 11 would be the best outcome we could get but to go to Carlton is a bit of a surprise they all ready have a good midfield with Judd, Murphy and Gibbs he's not really needed I would of thought that they would be better off looking for a key back or key forward. I think the club is becoming a bit too obsessed with the draft. Time will tell if they have done the right thing, don't do a Cameron and Fark this up Prendagast.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
