Two Sheds,

I haven't written anything to you up until now because I had nothing to say that other posters hadn't. I have been watching this thread like a hawk and with a degree of nervousness.

I am delighted and relieved that things have gone your way in this battle.

I wish you all the best.

Regards, Barry.

Quick update;

- Finished treatment.

- The chemo worked brilliantly. By the fourth cycle (I had six all up) there was no cancer showing in the scans at all. Pretty much everyone was shocked about that. They're not saying I'm cured, because they can't once it's spread through the bloodstream, but they can't put a limit on how long it could stay dormant for, and obviously I can try the same treatment again if and when it comes back.

- Back at uni, doing comedy again (entered RAW Comedy this year and made the State finals), so I'm basically back to normal.

- Now it's a matter of getting scans every month or so, but if it stays stable for a while, they'll make it every few months. Basically the longer it stays stable, the less regularly I'll have to have scans. So yeah, it's a bit touch and go for now.

Pretty bloody stoked with how it's gone, actually. With the obvious exception of being diagnosed with the [censored] thing in the first place, I've been pretty lucky; things have gone way, way better than anyone would have expected when I wrote the OP.

Bring on the footy!

Thats great news 'two sheds jackson'.

well done bro.

Thanks so much for all the support guys.

This is a cheap, shameless plug and I'm a bastard for doing it, but heres the footage of me at the state finals of RAW Comedy:

pretty good mate, had a couple of chuckles.

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to say that I recently discovered the passing of "two sheds jackson" during this year and wanted to belatedly share the news with those concerned on Demonland. The admin on Demonland would like to extend our condolences to his family.

Two sheds Passed away in July, I'm told.

I found out about him only yesterday and almost straight after went to my GP for my MRI results and he told me I have badly torn and frayed the Patella tendon in my left knee.

I have to give up my regular twice weekly kick to kick/circle work. Its my only sport i regularly do.

I pretty much knew what was coming but Two Sheds Jackson didnt. I thought of him when the quack told me and I thought how brave that bloke was. And how piddling this is.

His original post is one of the bravest call outs I have read.

He put it on here because he didnt want to upset his family but had to scream. Hemingway called it Grace under Pressure.

I honestly will re-read his OP if/ when things ever get tough for me. Thanks Two Sheds.

Beautifully written Franky. Well done.

I have just been informed that a close work colleague of mine (who I would call a friend) has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and now goes into the horrible process of doctor check up, operation and possibly chemo. I can only imagine the inner turmoil she is suffering and only admire her strength at this time.

I think the same things could be said about 2 Sheds. I dont know him but I enjoyed his posts and admired his strenght of character in dealing with his battle.

I can only hope that science can crack this scourge called cancer. It takes away so much that we value that all other issues are just irrelevant.

RIP 2 Sheds.

Well written Franky.

I've re-read this thread a few times since two sheds' opening post and reading two sheds' subsequent posts where things were feeling good and up for him. Likewise I didn't know him either, but I know he had great courage in sharing his personal battle with us here at Demonland. I enjoyed reading his contributions here.

Every year for the last several I have registered for Relay for Life for the Cancer Council with a group of friends where we walk/run for 24 hours. It's amazing just how many people support, join in, register and help raise funds for friends and family who are fighting cancer. I hope one day they find a solution to fight it and beat it.

So young. Condolences to Two Sheds' family and friends.

Gone too soon two sheds jackson. RIP.

Words feel inadequate but we are lucky to have touched the life of a young man and he ours.

The eternity of the internet and the power of this site allow his intellect and passion to be seen past his time and that is a great thing.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Such devastating news. I was so touched when I read his initial post, so to think he has now lost his battle is just horrible!

My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

I've lost some close friends to cancer over the years and others have survived.

Roll of the dice, I suppose. I don't know.

On Sunday, I visited a cousin who is the same age as me. He had just gone through chemo and had no hair. It was a difficult meeting but e was in fantastic spirits and very optimistic.

The people around those who suffer cancer also go through much pain and to Two Sheds family my deepest sympathy.

This thread should be pinned for evermore. Two Seds initial post is a fine true piece of writing. He had similiar corage to jimmy stynes.

He also had a wonderful sence of humour.

"Two Sheds Jackson" is one of Monty Python's best early sketches. We should always remember two sheds. RIP Demon.

Terribly sad news. The OP is such a raw, gutsy effort - no b/s, no pretense - just honest and far too real. It's just not right. Cancer is such a bastard of an illness.

I'd like to echo jaded and extend my sympathy to his friends and family.

Geez this floored me when I read this. Its incredibly sad for someone so young to be taken this way.

My old man paid a rare visit to me in June this year and we sat and watched the Dees together for the first time in over 25 years, and enjoyed a win against the Tiges. Sadly it was also our last game together. He died of cancer less than 3 months later and I had no idea he was sick until after he went home the next day. What a horrible disease.

My thoughts and wishes go out to Two Sheds and his family. RIP mate.

These 2 examples also make me realise how unbelievable Jimma has been during his fight with this bastard. He is a true warrior and nothing short of an inspiration.

This was just promoted on the 'best threads ever' post and it prompted me to read it again. In a nothing serious kind of way, I've just had a shocking few weeks and sometimes you wonder why me? What have I done to deserve this. Twosheds, I hope you're looking down looking over us and the Dees because re-reading this just made me realise how ungrateful we are sometimes. Every Sunday I'm normally in the worst mood because the Demons have let me down again.

It's beyond comprehension how unfair it is that you were taken far too young, but as a 23 year old myself, your words have meaning beyond belief.

Hope your family or friends post on here still, I'd love to know they know how proud we are as a community of your strength. Enough from me mate, but thanks for turning around my month.

I've tried to respond to this thread many times but it's been too hard, so I haven't but I join in all those that express their sorrow at two shed's passing.

It's a horrible disease and as you get older you find it affects your family, your friends and those that you know on a casual basis, every time you have to take your loved one to the doctor you fear the worst and hope for the best.

Enjoy your life it's only temporary and somewhat fleeting.

Whoa, incredible and thought-provoking post. So tragic, I hope you left a lasting impression with that passion towards those close to you. You certainly did here on Demonland.

I also have seen that video when searching Raw Comedy, well before I was aware of this thread, and thought it was terrific. Makes this more special for me.

So sad for this to happen to such a great guy

Wow the highs and lows of this thread. From his initial anger at the medical system which you could kind of tell was his frustration but then his positive attitude through chemo and the follow up. As if tragedy can be any worse but I do wish we got to hear from him when things went south again. I hope people were there for him.

Sadly in the nearly 4 and a half years since his first post Melbourne haven't become a good side and now reading about Watts, Scully and Jurrah depresses us all. But it sure gets put in to perspective.

Also sad is that Dean Bailey late last year obviously found himself in a very similar situation to Twosheds.

Obviously haven't seem the end of the thread and missed the sad news. It is such a horrible disease and what it does to people and their families. Having recently seen someone else go through it and had major issues with health professionals I can understand Twos frustrations with the health systems and then the optimism and hope of the maybe they will get through.

RIP Two sheds, my old Dad (who was a mad Dees man), my wife's mum and dad.

My grandfather played for the Dee’s in the 50’s and 60’s, he was diagnosed with cancer during the week. Success means so much to all of us supporters, but here’s hoping for him he can see us in one last GF.

Two Sheds,

I raised a glass for you tonight mate. I remember first reading this thread as an 18 year old like it was yesterday. I never even met you, but I’ve always tried to live by the courage and strength of character you showed here. It’s lived with me ever since and I’ve never forgotten it.

Rest easy mate. Go dees.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
