There are going to be alot of broken bodies! These guys can tackle and hurt! Ouch!

Watch Cale run now! Go Cale Gump! Run Run Run! Or is it Forrest Morton?

This guy plays full-back for the Broncos! Has great aerial skills to mark the football under pressure and can run like a cheetah hunting his dinner!

Very interesting viewing! Will attract alot of support and following. Well done Gold Coast!

Maybe we can recruit Billy Slater to play when he is not playing for the Storm!

Melbourne should jump on this straight away. Get on the phone to storm, and get slater, or inglis (greggy and the cougar, what a combination!) to just show up at training, have a run around with the boys. It wont be about anything at all, but would get plenty of paper and radio time, get both clubs to play it up a bit for the media, ie: contract tlaks break down, melbourne playing coy about it all, have some fun with the media, as they would go into a frenzy if another club jumped into this

while they are at it, get archie thompson at training too, handy forward pocket :D

Great idea, but I can't figure out what the Storm would get out of it besides negative publicity...

Just wondering if Demetriou is out having dinners and drinks with the MFCs next cross code super star. Perhaps he can have a beer with Lebron or Dwayne Wade?

On a serious note....can they just sign him as a zoned player?, he doesnt need to go in draft?

An interesting one. I wish him all the best (except when he plays against us, of course) but what odds that he will be a cross between Bell and NicNat. Tough and athletic but with little 360 awareness and not a lot of idea where to position himself. I'm not sure if these shortcomings can be overcome but it will be well worth watching to see how it goes.

Turned down a deal worth 1.2million over 3 years in rugby so you would have to beliece he is at least getting that to join gold coast.Heard reports that the AFL is actualy paying his wage & not gold coast just to get a profile up there & get the ball rolling.I watch 10 times as much ARL as i do AFl & whoever says he isnt quick is kidding. He will dodge & out run at least 90%of the footy players, plus actualy knows how to tackle & if he hits you believe me you will know it.Has a great vertical jump & is a big kic.Not sure how he will adapt but has played the game before & gotta believe if anyone could make it he possibly could.

Bloody good question, but I imagine the AFL will make this work any way they can.

And he would have a lot more bargaining power when saying "I won't play anywhere but GC" than a 17-year-old kid from Dandenong

Reported to be $600K plus endorsements from sponsors, etc. From K Hunt's ponit of view its a no brainer. He was virtually offered the same over in Japan Rugby. Smart move by GC17 and AFL. Vlad is cunning.

Looking forward to seeing a sublimely talented athelete from the NRL play in the AFL. I always wonder what people like him or billy slater would be like playing footy. Tell ya what, byron pickett would have made a great rugby player.

He will need to slim down and improve his endurance. Saw the NRL show on fox last night, they said it will be interesting to see how he goes in terms of endurance. Because where he plays at half back or fullback for the Broncos. They may make 1 run in a set (usually the end of a set), whilst they sit back for the first 4 tackles. When the opposition have the ball they sit right back waiting for a kick from the opposition - usually at the end of the oppositions set too. Not alot of running needed.

Just an observation. Clearly he is an elite athlete in NRL, but AFL is a whole other ball game.

Also in AFL you need more peripheral vision and awareness. He will need to know set plays out of defence......he has 18 months anyway.

All we know is he can kick accurately over 45metres at Royal Park with Nathan Buckley down the other end!

From what I understand, GC17 will play in the VFL next year, so we will get plenty of chances to see him in action. I hope it works out well, but the mechanics behind it intrigue me.

I think some of you are overestimating the differences in athletic demands between each sport or underestimating the demands of NRL on the human body.

I suggest you try to run full-bore at a pack of people after 80 minutes of running full-bore at packs of people and you will realise that Hunt is an athlete.

All he has to do is remember how to kick and gain some peripheral awareness. Shouldn't be too difficult, he can throw a decent pass to blokes he barely sees.

He'll do alright.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you average 10 posts a day...

(It's best to humour him)

You sure do get pinged, you sure do.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
