The injuries are considered legitimate. Why would you be angry? Wouldn't have anything to do with our 3-13 record would it? - On the back of last years 3-19 finish!

Heavens above.

Absolutely right HT! If this was Round 2, or if we were top 4, these guys still wouldn't be able to play.

There's a tendency to see tanking in everything when it's not there. Is dropping Robbo tanking? Or would it be tanking if we left him in the team? If you want to see evidence that we're tanking, you can see it anywhere you look.

As others have said, Green has an injury that has the potential to cause lots of trouble, and which is notoriously hard to detect in its early stages. He needs to be given every opportunity for this damn thing to heal, even on 198 games. Same principle applies to Grimes. And Brock apparently injured his knee against Port and played injured last week, and we all saw how he played - so did we tank last week by playing him injured against the best midfield in the comp???

You guys who want to see tanking everywhere, you're going to have a really enjoyable few weeks, because you'll see it everywhere no matter what happens. Have a great time. Those of you like me who want Scully just as badly but who want us to get him without selling our soul, rest assured that we haven't sold our soul (not yet, anyway). My hope is that whatever happens, in 2010 and beyond we'll be so far up the ladder that there will be no more tanking threads.

There's a huge difference between tanking and a dark cloud that happens to have a very clear silver lining!

Hahaha you sounnd like you work at the club. Have we all had the wool pulled over our eyes?

Read threads, some have heard that the injuries are on the money. Whilst some of the players might be able to play on. Why risk them of further damage in a season already lost? Better to operate and/or recuperate and be ready for a busy pre-season and important 2010.

Valenti and cheney will definately play. Mckenzie has flown over as well but can't confirm if he is playing.

They haven't flown over yet. I was just at Chadstone shopping centre and saw Frawley, Meesen, Cheney, Dunn and Johnson in a group. So they are still in Melbourne.

However, I hope that you are correct in saying that Valenti and Cheney will play. I really hope Cheney gets to play out the rest of the year.

No what? This is the second time he's been dropped. I would say his time is almost up.

Fair enough, but facing the fact that robbo could be finished..... personally i hope he goes around one more time, i mean his our leading goal kicker and has played half as many games as all the other forwards, imagine what he could do with good midfielders and delivery.

One more year please!

happy to admitt i was wrong about that then mate. From what i heard they'd left but i'm only going on what i've heard out of Casey. I'm positive about Valenti and Cheney however.

I must admit, I was surprised to see them still here. I guess I would have expected them to have left by now. Must be leaving tomorrow morning.

Glad to see you're positive about Cheney. Love the kid. I've been scratching my head as to why he was dropped the last time. Look forward to seeing him play on Sunday.

WOW 7 changes. Frawley & Jetta out. That would explain Frawley at Chadstone. ;)

I saw Frawley out of the team and laughed more than a little. I'm still smiling from it!

The good thing is that we have dropped so many this week that only dropping 2 or 3 decent players for next week's game will make it seem like we aren't really tanking. It's brilliant!!

Gee ... they're only going on a 45-minute flight to Canberra. Not as though they have to adjust to a time zone and get acclimatised or anything.

Canberra is a Time Warp...not a time zone :lol::P

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
