Strauss dropped, that's dissapointing. We desperately need this kind of player to be pushing up not down.

He's on the extended bench, he isn't definitely dropped yet.

I agree though, it would be a disappointing step backwards.

AWESOME it's gonna be on telly!

That is good.

I would like to see the likes of Newton, Bell, Wheatley, Dunn, Bartram & Valenti all push their claims for senior selection against West Coast when they take on Willi this weekend against Casey... We need the boys to compete for senior spots.

It's interesting how supporters have differing perspectives and views. I have absolutely no interest in watching any of the players you named.

Thought this might get some feedback. My post was partly focussed on the West Coast game..hint hint.

I'll be watching Maric in particular. I'm really hoping he will be back playing for the Dees soon. I love his football smarts. This is his first game back at Casey right? Will be interesting to see what he can do down there now that he's had a taste of the big time.

And I'm really hoping Strauss gets a game in the seniors too. Keen to see him improve and maybe press for selection later in the season.

Looking forward to seeing how Cheney goes as well as McKenzie, Bail and Hughes.

Lots to look at. Great that it's on TV.

Agreed.

Maric, Strauss (who better get a game and get used properly this week  ) and Bail is why I'll be watching.

Agreed x 2, no interest in any of those players except Maric and Strauss. They are all back up players at best going forward. I highly doubt strauss would be dropped.

I'm now thinking maybe I shouldn't be so cryptic, maybe I should just get straight to the point so posters can understand: -

So here it is (a-dah!)

I DON'T WANT US TO WIN AGAINST WEST COAST.

Ok?

Big game for Juice, no Robbo no Miller no Jurrah, no Watts no Martin no Sautner.

He should have the goal square pretty much to himself.

I still hold out some hope for juice so here's hoping he embraces being the number one target and kicks a bag.

Also no Jones named means he is at least making the trip north if not playing for the Dees.

I hope Hughes has a big game and pushes for promotion. As a mature-age rookie, it's now or never.

Yepp, i hope he gets a chance this year along with mckenzie and macnamara, surely nows the best time to give the kids a chance i mean look at freo they've had 9 debutantes this year!

What an odd weekend. All the players I enjoyed watching on tv against Werribee and then at Princes Park v the Bullants

won't be playing. But I'll still watch this match on the telly for the other players mentioned. I watched McKenzie even more than Jurrah

vs Bullants (you couldn't miss Jurrah majestcially patrolling the forward line) and I will watch McKenzie again tomorrow as well as Maric.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. 2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. 2024 Player Reviews: #40 Taj Woewodin

The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. The clever small was unable to cement a place in the Melbourne midfield and spent most of his time this year with the Casey Demons where he finished equal fourth in its best & fairest.
