Yeah true heals, he just doesn`t work hard enough, although he did get some clean clearances and did lift a bit since he got reported.

I think this is the truth ^, very talented but isn't working anywhere near hard enough. Wake up Col, your running out of credits. You could end up @ the Gold Coast or ,,,,,Richmond.

REALLY...?? To take a line from a previous AFL advertisement...'Id like to see that'
Is that all. Of course he can play - up until now its not been up to the level some of you want him to consistently enough. As I stated at present i am prepared to back him in at the current time.

Let's put the kid into perspective

Talent.......Yes

Work rate...........Zilch

Consistency........Zero

Effort......non existent

He was drafted as a midfielder and that's where he should play, but he is lazy.

No use running him off a half back, his opponent will have a field day.

I propose a TRADE---> COLIN SYLVIA for DANIEL WELLS

If that happened at the end of this year I'd be pretty happy.

2 players full of talent that just along in matches, both probably need a change of scenery to reach their full potential (if they are ever going to...)

Why do posters put up trades that are so clearly biased toward MFC that an opposition club would be nuts to undertake?

He just copped a whack from Robert Walls on "One Week at a Time" .

Said he has been a disappointing player for us and his time is fast running out. Pretty accurate statement.

A whack from Robert Walls on One week at a time...then topic of conversation on Footy Classified. Colin, I think the writing's on the wall. Shape up or move on !!!!

Sylivia is taking up space that could be given to a kid who actually wants to have an AFL career. A kid who shows promise, is hungry, and probably who with time will be able to have their talent nurtured and turn into a fine player. Colin had all those opportunities too and he has repeatedly squandered them either through lack of effort or brain explosions... or both. Sure, he had injury woes, but that should make a player all the more keen to prove themselves when they do get back into the side. This club has no room for passengers particularly at the moment.

Spot on. And in fact it's worse than that. He symbolises what is wrong with this footy club. He hasn't improved in his years at the club, and he keeps getting a game despite not having a work ethic. Every game he plays is a scar on the club. Attitude before ability.

I challenge any Melbourne supporter who has something negative to say about Colin to go and say it to his face ... just you and him in a quiet private room some where. ;);)

Time some people around here started sticking up for our boys ... than kicking them when they are down.

We don't need to, because the way he's playing i'm sure Bailey and co are doing just that. And if they're not then Sylvia is the least of our problems.

We as supporters and members have every right to pass judgment when we think our players aren't pulling their weight, just as you have every right to defend him if you feel he's being hard done by.

Now i didn't see the Port game so i have no idea how he played, but if YM is jumping off sticking up for Sylvia then i know he played poorly again.

Considering my membership dollars partly pay for his salary, I have a damn right to criticise him for not performing and not appreciating his position at the club. He was never up to begin with.

Sylvia = Failure...simple as that. People , well some seem to avoid the reality of this..such is life. Time to "Carrol-ise" him !! end of story

He's just not worth the effort !!!!

Would have no problem in the world doing that.

What you think he will beat me up?

you will find no one will disparage a player who applies himself to the fullness of not only his ability but the expectations of his peers, that and respects the honour of wearing the Red and Blue.

As Colin does neither..he's fair game for mine ;)

Both games he's played he's been invisable. Is he spending heaps of time on the bench or what?

I'm not defending him, but what he did V Port was OK in my book. No errors, just didn't have an impact. Bailey's not utilising him properly. Next week I'd like to see him play a full game from the goal square and aim to kick 1 goal per qtr for a total of 4. He's not a midfielder's shoe lace.

Thats the attitude ... you should be at Tigerland not Demonland.

Reality is he's on our list ... If I'm going to say anything ... I prefer to remain positive & supportive seeking to develop our players for the long-term ... you get more from them that way. Sorry I refuse to take the easy option ...

Its called positive constructive criticism ... now thats reality.

I think the big problem here is that Sylvia went at pick three. As a pick three you have all the expectation of carrying the label of champion player. In terms of what is expected to come from a pick number three, Sylvia has failed. He has obviously got the talent, but I don't think he has the desire or ability to match it with the best at the moment. Whether he needs a new position, new attitude or a new club I'm not sure, but if so many fans have a problem with him, as well as media persons, then I'm sure the club is addressing the issue with him also.

What would be the point? I'm pretty sure that he doesn't listen to anybody at the MFC so why would he listen to me. It's not about booting him either, it's wanting him to be the player that we know that he can be but for some reason doesn't want to.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention.
