Whoever the new (2nd Stage) sponsor will be, will have synergy with our community program work. J Stynes has had a lot to do with this.

When the announcement is made, the media will focus on the good work of Jimmy previously, in the community and what we, as a footy club, will do in the community, long term.

Jimmy and others, who shall remain nameless on this forum, ought be congratulated for their community based and long sighted "marketing" aims, in this respect.

In marketing terms, it is called re-positioning.

GO Demons!!!!

A little of the topic however: Did anyone notice the ad in todays age for "Run Melborne" Fun run (Sports Section Page 11 under Sports Scoreboard) ?

The predominant Red and Blue colours for the ad.

It was pitched to the MFC as an afterthought after attending the "Demon Summit" that the club should try and convince companies (and events) where possible with Melbourne in their name to adopt the Red and Blue colours. Therefore making the Red and Blue colours becoming synonymous with the City of Melbourne over time and vice versa.

Maybe this was the first step?

The MFC rejected Chang Beer

I think the talk in parliament at the moment is trying to ban alcohol sponsorships on TV during sports programs, so this could be one reason why we rejected it, just to avoid any future issues, but I could be completely wrong

Interesting, are Hankook uping the stakes here or another company with ties to Hankook.

Wonder if it will be leaked tonight, the almighty Hutchy is on (yes, sarcasm is here).

Look forward to hearing this hankook1, thanks for the teaser :P

You'll know tomorrow.

And none of the guesses or suggestions in this thread are right.

I've said it once, and I say it again:

You are the man Hankook.

Plus you sell the best tyres in Australia champ!

I can think of 2 reasons why almighty Hankook would know.

Maybe they are upping the ante, but more realistically, if i were a company sharing duel major sponsorship of a team, i would want to know who the other sponsor is. I eagerly await the next 24 hours.

I will then be able to go to the demon shop and get the home guernsey as well as the white away strip.

Ps. I too will be heading for a Hankook outlet when i get my new car in a couple of months!!!

It's not us! And all I'll say is it's a company that doesn't have a big profile in Oz as yet but you can all use their products.

I knew it.

A new brand of toilet paper manufactured in the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan by members of a collective farm related to and introduced to Cameron Schwab by Borat, our magnificent #27 ticket holder.

Sounds bloody good, can't wait to find out who it is. I'm guessing articles should come out breaking the news around midnight tonight maybe?

From your sources hankook1 have you been told it will be announced tomorrow?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
