Second Major Sponsor is...

It's not us! And all I'll say is it's a company that doesn't have a big profile in Oz as yet but you can all use their products.

A communications provider? Skype?

A new VIRGIN business about to hit our streets?

A Nigerian Fraud Scam?

I knew it.

A new brand of toilet paper manufactured in the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan by members of a collective farm related to and introduced to Cameron Schwab by Borat, our magnificent #27 ticket holder.

Brilliant Chelly!!! The company saw a synergy with us finishing on the bottom.

Hisense sounds logical.

Tease us some more Hankook - is it a good deal?

I don't think it'll be Hisense, sponsoring Hisense arena would be enough exposure for them.

And yes, do you have anymore infro regarding finances?

I can think of 2 reasons why almighty Hankook would know.

Maybe they are upping the ante, but more realistically, if i were a company sharing duel major sponsorship of a team, i would want to know who the other sponsor is. I eagerly await the next 24 hours.

I will then be able to go to the demon shop and get the home guernsey as well as the white away strip.

Ps. I too will be heading for a Hankook outlet when i get my new car in a couple of months!!!

I droped into the MFC shop today and asked when the new jumpers were coming out and was told not for another 2 months!

My info was that it was less than the Hankook one. About $1.25m together. We will soon know.

Hmm... there's been the bet-ezy addition to the platinum sponsors on our corporate page, and I can't say for sure but I didn't think powerade were there before, at least not at gold partner level.

Believe it or not I actually check fairly often!

Hankook1 has demonstrated another great reason why they signed on first- they get to tease us with the second, and every time they do, our response is 'Oh Hankook, your tyres are so wonderful and service so good, all at a reasonable price, please tell us more!'.

:)

Anyway, I'm interested in the two lines of rumour going on - one along the lines of a community based partner, the other (pretty reliable, since it's Hankook;) ) suggesting an international company with a low profile but established market in Australia.

Interesting, very interesting. A bit of thrill, frankly. At this rate, we will be the only club to record a profit on 2009!

We could be getting this stuff sorted out just in time. A lot of AFL clubs are going to be in a fair bit of financial trouble 12 months from now.

I just hope as well as these sponsorships we can sort out our MCG deal-Then we can move forward.

We must stop the AFL drip feed ASAP.

It won't be Costco, because among other things, they also sell tyres, and are aligned with that french brand with the big fat rubber dude as their logo. (couldn't bring myself to write another tyre brand here with the support from Hankook).

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
