That is pathetic & they must be concerned. It's a major concern.

2 new clubs in 2 years makes it that much harder to win a flag.

Hey They Made Top 4 Last year-we got the spoon & they cannot pull a crowd. WHY & how are they going to change it $ 40+- Mill goes through an AFL club per year now.

I am not saying we are in the clear but North are in trouble.

If they ever bottom out they won't come back.

Sorry i was thinking 2007 when i said top 4. But they still made september last year & so there attendance yesterday was pitifull, & the AFL want to move into western Sydney....i was always taught to clean up my own back yard first Vlad...

I hope hey don't fold/move/merge, I don't see why they would need to anyway. I don't particularly like them, especially at the moment but if they went to he wall and they afl made a move on them I would like to think I would be there shpwing my support. I just don't see the benefit for the game by removing them.

It was a terrible effort from the Roos fans yesterday, we easily out numbered and that's saying something. Also noticed that the cheersquad was back where it belonged on the wing, and behind the goals is a different membership group? Looked a hell of a lot better.

This seems to be a trend evolving with many AFL clubs supporters.

You dont go to away games. I know heaps of people that are saying this to me.

Its part an evolution with the introduction of constant interstate games, people have been

trained not to go every week.

Plus its getting very expensive to take the whole family.

I think we would have made money this weekend not lost, mant store not open compared to last year where almost all of them were open. Sucks ass coz im in M16 and it's always the bar behind us thats shut but if i have to walk a bit for the club to make money then so be it!

Also it was great to see players getting involved. Both Belly and Blease (who was busy sending a text ) were standing at the scarf table when we went up to collect our scarves, which I thought was a nice touch.

Definitely a nice touch. At the scarf table inside the MCC entrance was Wheatley and Rhys Healey (I think - I must admit at first I didn't know who he was). Having a chat with the members, about the club and the team. Really nice.

I think Match Day means their membership gives them access to games. Non Match Day probably means they don't have access. Kind of like our $50 MCC/MFC memberships, where we're members, we get a card and the magazine and a scarf etc., but we can't use it to enter the ground.

North Melbourne supporters were dwarfed by Melbourne supporters on Sunday. Not just outnumbered, but comprehensively dwarfed. By Melbourne supporters. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that I have never been to a game in Melbourne, against a Victorian side, where we so clearly outnumbered opposition supporters. Sydney draw larger crowds than that in Victoria, and even Brisbane arent that far behind when they're playing well. It was sick.

I have a soft spot for North Melbourne for reasons I wont bother going into, and genuinely want them to survive, but Sunday was an ominous sign.

North have given their spectators tremendous run for their money over the past few years under Laidley. So what happens if North plateau this year with ageing warriors like Simpson and Harvey coming to the end of their careers? What's their membership and supporter base going to do then?

While MFC has substantial problems, North is a veritable house of cards before a strong wind.

The worst thing is that it appeared that the whole ground was open for attendances and based on the match day crowd of sub 30,000, I doubt if MFC made anything from the game (bar membership sales). We need to have the membership tents working hard on Saturday against the Pies.

That's for sure, I hope players who miss the game can continue to be present at these marquees before the game, great to see that on Sunday. Some extra colour in balloons at these sites wouldn't hurt.....anything extra to show how 'fairdinkum' the club is on getting back on it's own feet and let's stick it up eddie on field.

What i enjoyed most about Sunday was the fact that even though there were 28,000 there it didn't feel like it. It felt like 40,000 were there (well in the first three quarters it did).

The crowd was sensational getting behind the team and booing every crazy umpiring decision. It felt like a carry over from the Freo-Brisbane games last year.

There is more passion in the stands this year!

So come saturday against the pies..don't just sit there GET ON YOUR FEET!!!!
