i think those that follow him from thread to thread taking a shot at what he wrote, and trying to draw the mods attention to what he wrote are more annoying that he is.

it is a distinct possibility that tez is no more than yze_magic in disguise. the only thing he/she ever does is have shots at yze_magic, and occasionally others.

That's because they are one of two things:

1. - They have FAR too much time on their hands or

2. - They have nothing better to contribute.

Every board has them.

It's no different to Joeboy's tripe... he just uses different language. Some people can be just a little too touchy sometimes... ;)

The difference is Joeboy has creativity.

Lets get back to discussing the disappointing game!

I don't know about that.

Hey Nosebleed , what's your problem with my comments ?

Why do you refer to them as 'tripe' ? If you don't care for my comments then don't read them !

Because they either state the complete obvious or they are completely wrong. For example:

To say Stef Martin looked "lost", yet Warnock "tried" is wrong. Not only is it wrong to say that Warnock tried but Martin didn't, but no backline would have stemmed the flow today. Did you put this into perspective? Obviously not.

Same goes for the forwards. You get stuck into Newton and Bate, yet the disposal to them was TERRIBLE all day. What do you expect them to do? Forwards rely on good deilvery and even though they didn't get it today, both at least made an effort to provide a contest, Newton especially. Again, no perspective. Sure they didn't get much of it and they only kicked a goal each, but they didn't exactly get decent deilvery.

At least you got stuck into our midfield, which as always was horrible. Happy now... joe"girl"?

I think some of you have it so wrong on Bell and are letting your biases against him show. Although, I don't think we actually had any players who genuinely played a good game, I think Bell was our best. He did make mistakes but was ok with the ball (no worse than most of the team) and shut out Ebert then didn't do too badly on Motlop, who was dominating everyone else. Going by Bailey's comments post game it seems he also thinks Bell did a reasonable job - so take the blinkers off!

godees, clearly you haven't realised that not only is Bell the cause for our predicament, he is the cause of all Burmese political troubles, the death of John Lennon and the Wall Street crash

A pretty fair summation there :)

Pretty amazing that when you look at the club at the end of the H & A 07..and compare then to whomever will comprise the club at start of season 09, at all levels, then who ever is on both lists is very much in the minority.. Thats one mighty big change.

Has any club undergone such a holistic transfusion in such a short time I wonder ?

It's no fun when someone describes our players as excrement.

Quite frankly, if that's YM's idea of fun, he/she can go play elsewhere and come back only when he/she grows up!

Well 'nosebleed' , if I wanted to write an essay on the merits or otherwise of each player's performance then I'd be wasting space and energy so I restrict myself to 3 words for brevity , and to provide WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE ,the overall sense of the players' performances ON THE DAY - note the thread's title .

There are 3 things you can do now as far as I'm concerned :

- offer to pay me MORE for this weekly 'tripe'and I promise I'll agree with your summation of each player's performance .

- don't offer me the Archibald Prize .

- don't read the 'tripe ' again and just present your own breakaway analysis.

This is where pick #1 will be a cinch - Nick Natanui (spelling correct?) Warnock, Natanui in the ruck, with PJ a resting forward.

You know, I've never looked forward to the draft - but this year's will be a beauty.

One of the worst games I have seen the MFC play.

Sure, we will get a good top up with 3 early picks, but the triuth is we are still a very long way off being anything special anytime in the next year or two.

At least make your 3 words for "brevity" accurate. I bet you feel important being able to provide your "analysis" after each game though, so hey, go right ahead. And for the record... I'll read what I please, even if it means sifting through your tripe.

Don't you mean 'make your 3 word analysis agree with my point of view' ?

Thanks for taking the time out of your important day to read my'tripe '

I wouldn't say Bell had a good game, but he was far from our worst. I thought he started off okay, and he looked a bit better offensively, particularly early. Kept Ebert fairly quiet, too?

Pretty tough on Martin too, IMO.

You're welcome

In my totally unimportant opinion, petty arguments like these are worse for the forum than a [censored] off supporter venting a little four-letter steam about some poorly performed players in a team he loves.

How about you make your comments relevent?

Whilst I don't always agree with Joeboy's analysis it has been a feature of this site for years now and is one of the few threads I read.

The benefits of Joeboys comments is that they have the potential to open a whole range of football discussion issue.

Please stick to commenting on footy. If you don't like the thread, simply don't read it.

Thanks.

Of course we are. Club officials have said that they're planning for 3-5 years as a realistic timeframe for finals, 5-7 for flag tilt.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
