8 Weeks?! Holy Jesus. Lucky for Barry Hall he didn't have a bad record. He would have been suspended for 10.

he does have a bad record, since been at shockers, been reported 6 times i think

biggest suspension since diesel hit the umpire in 97

sucked in to him!!

Yeah big time, rest of the season for breaking a cheek bone in 4 spots... i wonder if anyone has asked him if it was worth it lol

Also the worst penalty ever given was in the vfl when John Bourke, in 1985, was previously reported by 6 umpires and then during one match he hit one for reporting him. He was banned from playing for 10 years.

Given the severity of the injury he caused, he deserves the sentence.

He used to be a physical player, now he is just a dog.

What a pathetic tactic it was by Freo trying to play the man, FFS you are rubbish and trying to physically harm a team with a serious claim on the flag does nothing to improve your future. Ah Freo, lucky the new Gold Coast team is coming in, they might just take over from you as the most utterly embarrassing club in the AFL.

I'd be almost tempted to play Carroll this week, give him license to smash the crap out of anyone in a Freo jumper and then send him on his way :D

read somewhere freo players have served 26 weeks of suspensions in the last 3 years

The Dockers had a win at the Tribunal with Crowley getting off his charge. Since we knew Solomon was never going to play against us this week anyway, I'd call that a big win for the Fockers.

Jonesy will be spewing about that, wasn't it Crowl who kept Jonesy completely out of the game when we had our first win?

Well Hall did get 10, but lost 3 for good record/ early plea or some crap like that.

Should of been given 10 weeks IMO. Hall got 7 weeks for his punch on Staker, Staker was back the next week. Ling could be out for up to 4 weeks.

It was a poor act from a player who has still been an effective player for Freo this year. The severity of the injury is part of it. The fact he was hit so far off the ball with a raised elbow compounded the problem. A fair and just result.

However it is a bit rich to say that Freo prescribed that action. FWIW, Freo could hardly lay an effective tackle.

Please no Carroll. His physical bravado is lame brained, poorly executed and a detriment to the team. Leave him at Sandy thanks

Leave Carroll at Sandy....

Polling on the back 6 for 2009 suggests Carroll should go....with him receiving very little votes. 2 out of 72 i think from Demonland Votes.

Hall got his 10 weeks reduced by 3 due to the tribunal chairman asking the tribunal to reduce the suspension by 25% for his guilty plea and remorsefulness. I would have thought that if Hall got this 'discount' then Solomon would have been entitled to it as well.

Off the field you'd be looking at an assault charge?

Police should of escorted Solomon from the field............its almost in the Leigh Matthews on Neville Bruns category.

at the end of the day, common sense lost. how solomon got more than hall i'll never know(despite previouis records). Halls was behind the play whereas atleast the ball was in frame in Solomons case.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
