JUICE--- Not got enough, too slow, poor decision making, no 2nd efforts. Good mark but thats it, clearly not up to AFL level, and has had his chances to show what his made of... Dont like lazy footballers, his work rate is poor!!! Get rid of him...

Give him three more weeks in the side, and if you still think he sucks, then talk about delisting him. Remember Colin Garland.

first game back since round 1, so a complete unfair assessment.

give him a few weeks. im sick of terrible supporters who call for young players to be delisted after 1 game. it's actually pathetic.

he actually took 8 marks today, all in very dangerous positions either within 50 or within 80m from goal.

And chased and laid a tackle too, a wee bit early, I'm not sure he will make it but give him a fair chance, another 3-5 weeks m in and see what he can do as our main focal point, was much better out of the square than floating around half forward.

right on the boundary every time and poor disposal afterwards resulting in a turnover is not "dangerous"

The only real negative of his game today was some very average kicking...gets that straight he is worth more games til end of year to truly evaluate

Agree with you initial sentiments, but I think he's worth more than just the remainder of the season. He's missed a large chunk of this season through injury, and he's got something that we're lacking. It's called TALENT.

Miller has been more proficient since he's been the main man. I think that Newton will flourish with the additional responsibility.

Can see the potential in him, that's for sure..... Just needs a string of games to get a better indication....

If he kicked straight today, could've had 3-5 goals.... Then people would have been praising him!

I genuinely don't like Newton as a player. He seems a bit precious and clearly feels as though he's above 1%ers. He can take a fine mark but, as has already been covered, what good is that if you keep jagging it in the pocket and continuously fluff shots from straight in front.

Happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think he has all the ingredients.

He just needs to attack the footy harder and use his size to open packs. Forward line seemed a little disfunctional with him in it. Happy with Martin. Gave Minson a complete bath in only his second game. Now this kid can play.

Correct. And, just as importantly, he wants to play. Can't say that with any certainty about Newton.

I've also shared those sentiments about Newton but give him some time under DB for the rest of the year and a thorough pre-season.

This would concentrate on his kicking, his skill at the loose ball and his body strength/work.

DB's been around long enough to make the right call on him then.

He has ability, but will never be a reliable key forward. We could persist, persist some more, and then persist some. Like we have with many other NQR footballers.

Or, we could bite the bullet and send him on his way. That said, I'd give him one more year.

Jeez you guys carry on...

In a day when NO-ONE took a contested mark inside forward 50, Juice looked like the most effective forward inside of 30 metres of the goal line.

10 disposals, 7 marks... could of had a few if he was confident. He only got back from injury a couple of weeks ago, and was stretching out his calves in the second half.

He EASILY did enough to get a game next week...

You're all expecting him to play like Buddy inside of his first 10 games?!!!

Wheatley - Trade, you're all kidding yourselves if you think he's good enough.

Green - Trade, only player worth something

Bell - Trade, obvious

Jones - Trade, slow, can't kick, can't handball, move him on!

Chris Johnson - Trade (how many half back f---ing flankers do we need!!!)

Whelan - 1 more year

Newton - Give till end of 09 to prove himself. Can play, will take some time, but may end up no good.

Martin - centre half back

Miller - centre half forward

Spencer or Warnock to be blooded next year

Build a team around Miller, Davey, Mclean, Wona, Bate, Sylvia, Dunn, Garland, Warnock, Buckley, Martin, Frawley, Petterd, Morton, Grimes and then use draft selections and trades over the next 2 years to complete the team

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
