4- Bruce

3- Wheatley

2- Green

1- Miller

Thought that Sylvia was important in getting us back in it in the 3rd.

Yes, Sylvia was great in the 3rd.

By the way Id like to change my votes and give Garland a 7. 6 just isnt enough.

I'm deducting votes from the idiot Melbourne supporter who started hurling fairly nasty abuse at an older Melbourne supporter whilst sipping on his can of Jim Beam and standing in the 'no standing' area in the last quarter.

I only saw the last quarter, so I can't comment on the whole game but there was one passage of play in the last with Sylvia that really worried me.

McLean had the ball in the back pocket/flank kick it up to someone (can't remember who) then got the ball again and kept running eventually until there was a ball up at around Melbourne's CHF.

That whole time, while Brock was running his guts out you could see Sylvia (this in on TV mind you) just jogging up following the ball but not getting in to lend a hand. It was lazy pure and simple.

Like I said, he may have starred for the rest of the game but that really worried me.

He didn't star by any stretch. Was useful in our comeback, but really didn't have an influence on the game. Needs to really stamp himself in this second half of the year. Like I said, he was very good in that third qtr - but he needs to do it every week. Should look at Brock for an example.

My votes:

6 - McLean

5 - Garland

4 - Bruce

3 - Green

2 - Miller

Y_M, I'm happy that you are not quite as deranged as I thought. Takes guts to write that up there. Kudos.

wow. mucho respecto for giving credit where credit is due. (ive had a mexican themed weekend).

on another note, im not sure about wheatley...he got a lot of it, but didnt really use it. i thought pj and cj were pretty good.

brock gets a lot of it, but his opponent was tuck who i thought was arguably best on today...

Wonder if Richmond supporters think that Tuck was good, except he let McLean run wild...?

At the end of the day McLean is not a tagger, and his main role is not to stop his direct opponent. Of course he has to chase and man-up when the ball is going the other way (which he does, and he lays as many tackles as anyone), but if you play him on a damaging player, expect both players to get the ball equally.

It's a case of, would you rather the opposition tag McLean out of the game, or would you rather let McLean and his direct opponent do as they please?

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
