Cloke's Headbutt

Recommended Posts

Collingwood’s Travis Cloke can accept a reprimand for headbutting Melbourne’s Matthew Warnock in yesterday’s Queen’s birthday clash, leaving him clear to play this weekend.

Cloke will receive 93.75 points towards his future record if he pleads guilty to his charge of headbutting.

If he challenges and is found guilty, he risks a one-match suspension.

Cloke, Magpie skipper Scott Burns and Melbourne’s Lynden Dunn were all hit with fine for engaging in a melee during the same quarter.

Magpie Paul Medhurst and Demon Clint Bartram have been given $900 fines for wrestling each other.

???? For a HEAD BUTT that led to a player going off under the blood rule, WTF? Adam Goodes will be going green with envy!

On the radio they reported that the AFL said it wasn't a head butt, but a clash of heads so he was charged with 'misconduct'!

This is from the AFL web site;

Charges Laid:

Travis Cloke, Collingwood, has been charged with misconduct in that he made contact with his head to the face of Matthew Warnock, Melbourne, during the second quarter of the Round 11 match between Collingwood and Melbourne, played at the MCG on Monday June 9, 2008.

WTF?

What about the Medhurst punch to Moloneys ribs shown on the replay?

Goodes incident was potentially far more dangerous and deserved a week.

I remember seeing footage of him after the game when I got home and his nature is that of a typical schoolyard bully.

He is. My cousin went to Yarra Valley with him.

Widely known/reported around the Maroondah area that 2 of the Cloke brothers (not 100% sure which ones) should be in jail for assault after they king hit a kid at a party who then knocked his head on the gutter and hasn't woken from the coma since

Just seen on the news that the filth are considering appealing Clokes charge and sentence. Are they for real? I hope they do and the charge is upgraded and he gets suspended - yeah sure! As is King Eddie would let that happen.

Another case of Malthouse whinging!

FFS - the sooner the AFL deregister the Collingmaggots the better! (Do dreams come true?)

I must say it looked more a coming together of heads not a head butt as such, but he did force the issue and initiated contact.

You should know better than letting the truth get in the way of a good Pie bashing session.

Agree, there wasn't much in it, possibly deliberate, but it's not like Cloke pulled his head right back in the "classic" headbutt style. Both were jumper punching in a show of strength, should have been let go. Reprimand is a fair outcome.

Are you blokes for real?

I was at the game and didn't actually see it and I haven't seen a replay of it either - but it's a Collingfilth palyer and it has to be worth 2 weeks!

Crikey - any chance to upset the filth!

LOL

Well my cousin saw Cloke hit the kid.

And basically everyone knows about when Cameron king hit a bouncer at Dakota and put him in hospital.

Im not sure what's the bigger crime, putting a bouncer in hospital or admitting to going to Dakota...

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
