Congrats to Oliver, Hunt, Petracca and Oscar for making the 40 man squad.

I think Trac has been a bit short changed being pitted against a bigger field of midfielders. He's kicked 24 goals this season compared to Curnow's 18, yet Curnow gets to compete against a much weaker field of forwards for selection.

Don't forget to vote :)

Not sure when the player needed to be under 22. Hunt is 22 and 4 months.

If that's the case does Jesse hogan makes it to this list? 22 and 6 months.

Brayshaw should also be there. 21 and 7 months.

We should have 6 players out of 40. 15% where the average should be 2 players per side

Wines is on the list!   22 and 10 months. clearly a well thought through list missing Hogan

[cant believe he is only 22 still]

Clarry, Hunt and Trac will easily make the 22

Hope the presence of Oscar McDonald in the squad shuts a few people up around here. He is tracking beautifully given his age.

Youre right, Poita.

Another preseason and a few kilos and hes going to be really good.  Lever will compliment him perfectly.

Yeah I was a bit confused that Hogan wasn't on the list?? Would be first choice full forward for sure.

Hogan and Brayshaw don't make the list because it's based on 2017 performance.

And for those wondering about the age of the players the article makes quite clear that player must be 22 or under for the whole of the season, including finals. In other words, anyone who doesn't have their 23rd birthday until  Sunday 1 October is eligible for consideration.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
