Get excited!

I just can't see Tyson playing for whatever reason, and I refuse to believe we won't play T Mac.

I’ll go final bench of:

I/C: A.Brayshaw, B.Vince, T.McDonald, T.Bugg

Andy could you add the The "JLT 2 vs St Kilda" thread to the notable absentees pls?  Cheers

I’m up in sunny Queensland where the game starts at 6.05pm our time so I’ll know the result an hour before you guys ?.

Do they have to reduce the squad or can they play eight interchange players?

He's not playing, Jack :(

I do find it interesting that Pedersen is getting a trot in both league praccy games.

"Sunny Qld"...??!  That's funny Jack!  We've had 440mms of rain in the past fortnight, and still no sign of that strange orb in the sky!  You telling little porkies to try to make your Southern mates envious, or somethin'?  (Or, have you not bothered to leave the inner bowls of the Pub where you happen to be holed up, to see what it's REALLY like on the outside...?  LOL)

Just out of back surgery, looking forward to getting home and onto the couch and watching this one. I reckon the Saints are going to take this one pretty seriously.

Is TMac playing?

Considering he didn't train the other day and is named on an extended bench my conspiracy theorist manual tells me no.

Do 2018 members get in for free this year?

General admission to home games x 3 matches per year, enter through Gate 3. Sadly. Other than that, if you want a seat called 'reserved', you hafta pay. If you want a seat where you can see the game at the 'G, it costs between $60-75; other 'seats' are reserved down at the Richmond end goals for around $50-60. The Ponsford stand (City end) is better seating but still behind the goals a long way from the far end of the ground, and same price as Richmond-end seats.

Arrangements with Ticketeck are not good. Rather get there early and pick up members' tickets at the Demon shop, eliminating the two middlemen: Ticketeck and the AFL, itself. C'est la vie!

No surprise that years of carrying this forum would take their toll on you, ET.

does the squad get trimmed down today?

if not, why would we have more on the bench then for the first practice match? they usually trim it down in prep for round 1

'Fristchy Business' to snag 5 tonight

Trac and Clarry to work into some form

Saints will go in hard and it will be a good hit out for round 1.  a kick in it til 3/4 time and then we'll kick away

Strange that because I arrived today and the sun’s shining. It’s not blue skies everywhere but there is sunshine.

Lucky!  Been only very few odd moments of sunshine in Mudgeeraba...

Final squads announced?

Just popped down the local and picked up a 10 Y.O. Glen Grant. I will dedicate one to you, and any other Scotch fans after we win. :P

Good onyer, Ding. I have a 3/4 bottle of Talisker to accompany me to the Netflix screen and a nice matured cheddar to assist me to overcome the inevitable blues about umpiring decisions against the MFC. Have a ripper night watching the footy.

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
