The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

Featured Replies

It's the kind of garbage that's virtually impossible to prove wrong.

If Hogan signs, this clown can say: "I told you so, but his heart's not in it."

If Hogan doesn't sign: "I told you so... his heart's not in it."

Someone in this thread kind've called this. CBF looking to see who it was.

But lol anyway.

Poor fella - every time a hit refresh on this account his followers are dropping.

It takes some real bullpoo to jump the shark on Twitter.

Unless he's attached advertising....then it's genius

It's actually not that ridiculous. Anyone who has ever had much to do with jesse knows he isn't one of those mad football fanatics. Although difficult to prove the credibility, and I find it hard to believe he would have these doubts after such a young age, it doesn't really surprise me.

On top of that, the footy season takes up all of the northern summer. Anyone who gets the itch to travel, like most young people do now, want to have those experiences, and have them now.

Cause god knows you can't have them at 32.

Nanny forum.

If your precious being cannot take a bit of misinformation posted on a public forum then maybe you need to start re-evaluating where you spend your time.  Yeah sure he could have taken more care in what he believed was the truth, but he didn't. He will not be the first and will not be the last, even if there is a threat of banning.  Can't anyone just laugh things off anymore?  Everything is just so serious now that people cannot make mistakes without others jumping all over them from their moral high ground.

Particularly when one considers that everything reported in the media is always absolutely accurate.

I take it you haven't travelled then?

Do you think that Hogan wants to go on a Contiki tour?

My point exactly. Contiki, sail Croatia, all the above.

Hopefully that's something he comes to realise. But for some people/kids, it does work the other way round - just not for athletes and sports people.

I don't want to get all political, but who knows what will happen over the next 11 years with the state of the world. Probably not much. I can empathise with quitting a job you don't like that much and travelling and investing the big windfall he's already made, to set himself up. Especially if you have interests elsewhere. Might be a difficult thing to grasp if you assume every footballer is the same.

People following this thread for actual Hogan news are like pokies addicts.

Maybe the NEXT push of the button will bring in the BIG ONE

Yeah it is.

Reality is not every player wants to commit to the rigors of afl footy... not saying this is the case for Hogan, but plenty of talented players who drop out as just can't commit to the demands of afl.

He's done pretty well for the first 4 years of his career. Much better than most.

It's factually incorrect. To suggest Jesse is anything but 100% committed to his afl career is a joke. The only question is where he will play.

Probably nothing but I seen a couple of Facebook pages claiming Jesse has signed 4 year extension to be announced in the next day or so.

as I said probably nothing but one of the pages is usually not too bad for these sort of things.

dont shoot the messenger

This is the right way to do it. We've been given the source of the rumour so can draw our own conclusions.

It's the posters who just post the bolded bit and nothing else that can GAGF.

Rumours are rife.... Just need to finalise either way as this will be a circus in 2017! Every other player committed ..

Every other player whose contracts ended in 2016 you mean? The only player to extend a contact ending in 2017 is Tyson and that happened a week ago. This is only a circus because the media has made it one.

You can't be 100% certain of the fact he is 100% committed. Even the committed stage of your argument has less than 100% of you being 100% correct.

Sooo....

<100% chance we win the Premiership next year.

I like your work. :)

p.s so many 100s (that I made).

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
