Usually the opposite of what Chris Doerre says comes true as a general rule of thumb8 points

Lucky for Essendon I'm hearing there are a lot of great options available at pick 18 of the 2025 draft7 points

@adonski cannot see us picking Armstrong if Langford is available. It’s an easy choice to make if it’s a call between these two players. I’m 100% in for Langford under your scenario.6 points

Correct. Looking back at the proposals which have come from the Board in the past 10 years, blind Freddy would see that none were going to solve the needs of the club. Yarra Park..you have got to be joking. Needed to move as much earth as the great pyramid and the residents were always going to object. Carparks E & F at AAMI...did anyone actually walk across to see the miniscule patch of ground this offered? Let's have an admin building overlooking Collingwoods training ground....sheesh. The Caulfield redevelopment was announced in 2021!. We are closing in on 2025, and not a single sod of earth has been moved. 4 years of further nothing. @old dee and I are running out of years....6 points

I like what AMW has shown so far. I reckon with improved fitness and confidence he’ll develop into a gun player !5 points

It's going to be hard to recruit anyone if they both leave and the media push the basket case narrative. Would be nice to have a ready made player for '25, and we may get one with one of our top 10 picks. But we shouldn't be having a narrow short term focus on recruits and we shouldn't be expecting one or two 18yr olds to be the difference between making finals or not. All I know is if one or both of Oliver or Petracca leave, we are going to be swimming in salary cap space. Think we will have an easier time trying to recruit a young quality mid over the next few years than a ready to go 25yr+ KPP that wants to sign a 5-7yr contract in a premiership contending team. We're going to be very short on key position players at the end of next year when McDonald most likely retires and May on his last legs at 34 in 2026. With Tomlinson and Schache gone, Fullarton not looking likely and both Jefferson and Adams no guarantees, I see a good argument to adding quality KPP players to the list. Our list has a lot of needs. Whether that's at 5, 9 or 83 will depend on how the JT sees this crop.5 points

We gave up 20 as well in that deal. We paid a lot for Dom. 2-> 6 . Richmond are calling North’s bluff on Tauru and saying we aren’t giving you a top 20 pick for that move. You’re doing that for effectively a future 2nd kind of value. F1 -> 11. Trading back in will cost you in this draft. We don’t care if you suck. West Coast suck and want that pick. Essendon aren’t good and want that pick. You have to relinquish the value you got in 2-6 to get that pick or we’ll sell it elsewhere. From North’s perspective - they are taking Tauru no matter what so may as well do it at 6. They have big gaps on the wing, half back, half forward that they can fill with 11. Getting that pick in right now is worth the overpay. And if they suck LDU gets them first round compo anyway!4 points

Nothing against Armstrong but we have lost Brayshaw, Harmes, JJ, Dunstan etc and we replaced them with?????The midfield cupboard is bare at Casey. You can have JVR, Jefferson, Armstrong and Jesus Christ in our forward line but if we persist with slow ball movement and blindly bombing the ball into a congested forwardline I don’t care who you are, you are going to struggle to score. And we do. I get where you are coming from it is a bit of what comes first the chicken or the egg. I think we need midfield depth with quality ball users. We have the personnel in our forward line to get the job done, however there is no doubt we need a better system down there or players having clearly defined roles and they need to be made accountable for playing their role.4 points

If he gets us to the top 4 again in the next few years then he's an genius. And if we get there again and he has to watch us fumble and choke under opposition pressure during the resultant finals then if I were him I'd walk away anyway. Goodwin is the least of our problems in my opinion. A playing group who are doing the right things to be in tip top shape to compete, and who deliver when put under pressure by the big teams is the starting point. Reality is he's achieved a lot with a lot of forces going against him.3 points

One of the more impressive at Casey. Looked at home in the AFL team. Pace, sure hands and developing by foot.3 points

Why bother your dealing with someone unreasonable who talks of the last 3 years being a total failure because we didn’t win a flag or final- forget the fact there were certain circumstances and we put ourselves in the top 4 after home and away season Wanting Goody to debut Jefferson, even though he’s not ready Spargo being no good because he’s small- forget the fact he’s our best link player in transition and probably the best decision maker with ball in hand Doesn’t understand despite being underdone, when he plays Petty takes one of if not the best opposition defender away from a younger forward And time is quickly running out FFS, another who is incapable of seeing the change in the group happening before his eyes3 points

We’ve seen some evidence they can help fast track a change in game plan though.3 points

Profits from the misery of others who gambled their $$$ away, whilst we walked away from gambling $$$ the hawks feathered their nest. The govt should think about that and supports clubs like us that have morals.3 points

It’ll be really difficult to attract decent free agents and/or trade in decent mids if Oliver and Trac leave. We’ll be portrayed (again) as a basket case. I’d love to recruit a gun tall but feel our situation is calling more for somebody ready to play in ‘253 points

Looks like he's happy to crash packs, good speed too. I think he's looks decent, whether he's worth bypassing the more highly rated mids at pick 5 is another question.3 points
-
Agree and if we select him it is a HUGE blunder for those reasons, mids, mids and more MIDS ! END OF STORY!3 points
-
I think the main reason is we spent years and years trying to get something near the MCG. If we just started looking at different locations sooner we would have something by now.3 points

Is there a typo in there? 2 and a most likely future #2 for 6 & 11 - I'd be joining in the chorus with North fans by asking "huh?" If that deal gets done.3 points

If Kangas swap 2 and future 2025 1st round FOR Tigers 2024 picks 6,11 1- Rich. Lalor/Smith/Langford 2-**Lions- Ashcroft 3- Rich. Lalor/Smith/Langford 4-Blues. O’Sullivan 5- Crows. Draper 6-Dees. Who’s remaining from Lalor/Smith/Langford 7- Kangas. Tauru 8-**Suns- Lombard 9- St.K Armstrong 10- St.K Smillie 11- Dees. Choice likely between Lindsay/Travaglia/Reid/Allan3 points

I mighhhht get to Casey providing no bulltish gates locked stuff, coz. Whats the piont???, Also, I have invested in a new Tournequet, anti Snake venom, fly swat, and a yowie anti mating kit!🤩3 points

We need more runners If we go with a big bodied mid for pick 5, that doubles down on the need for speed with 9 imo3 points

Time to go Goody? Nah, just time to go and get another premiership Goody! I have a feeling ‘25 and ‘26 are going to be good years.2 points

Wont have to worry about it, save me a couple of bucks! Lets revisit this next year eh?2 points

I’d take Lindsay over Jagga Smith. Pretty much everything Smith does is chaos, especially his kicking. Whereas Lindsay is a smooth mover with a very nice kick.2 points

I said: in the first half of the season. For you to get off his back. And if have to say, if I were him and I won the flag, you would be the last person I'd want to have a drink with after all the "support" you have shown him.2 points

I reckon this bloke deserves to coach an AFL men's team one day. He's a wonderful leader, mentor and coach.2 points

I would be happy with any of Lalor/Smith/Langford, but would not be surprised if we take Tauru at “5”. Just seems like a possible JT pick to me.2 points

Much intrigue remains over whether Richmond and North Melbourne will do a deal which could land the Tigers the first two picks in this year’s national draft. It is believed that the Kangaroos are open to trading pick two and a future first-round selection to Richmond, in exchange for picks six and 11 in this year’s draft. Such a deal would still leave the Tigers with seven early selections this year — at picks 1, 2, 10, 19, 20, 23 and 24 — along with two first-round picks next year.2 points

Gus - Windsor ANB - Kolt JJ - Sharp Harmes - pick 9? I’d like to rebalance the list with more midfield depth than that too but when it comes to pick 5 you got to go best available. I can see the case for Armstrong being the best available.2 points
