I sign up, and nag my folks to as well, once the first correspondence with a renewal form comes out every year. Also last year I managed to convert my 12-yr-old cousin from collingwood to melbourne, and am now working on his 6-yr-old younger brother.

That's right, 4Dees!!!

I(and my family) will be proud to once again sit through a bad season as a staunch supporter,as in "65 to '87, with little or no joy. I'll watch the reigning premiers every year revel in ephemeral "bandwagon jumpers" patting them on the back. I'll know that when our day of glory arrives(should have been '87 or '90), we true supporters will really deserve the euphoria that a premiership would bring.(unlike the West Coast, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide "new-chums", who have no idea what loyally following a Club through years, no, decades ,of thick and thin is all about.)

In the mean-time, we'll have to go back to mid-nineties mode , and concentrate on the survival of our club as we know it.

Every year we survive in our own right is a year of triumph.

If you join up now, after this rotten start, you're showing the sort of loyalty we want!(though you should have joined earlier, now it is a real feather in your cap to make the commitment.)

I'm an MCC member and to be honest with you (don't hate me), I haven't bought a 2008 MFC membership yet. This is the first year that I've had to buy my own and I will hopefully get around to it soon.

Sadly, I do know quite a number of supporters who are in the same position as I am (age-wise and having to buy it themselves for the first time), who have not bought a membership and have no intention of doing so.

Am only a $40 MCC/MFC member - which would surprise some I guess.

I decided it was better to buy a $40 membership for myself and 3 of my friends than the one full MCC/MFC membership. Adds 3 members to the tally and get the club the same amount of money.

wow I expected it to be high, but +95%

so just who ARE these 250,000 supporters we supposedly have

It's not very surprising that the vast majority of visitors to this site are contributing financially to the Club.

Nah.

Grew up in a small country town and hadda take a 10 year hiatus from Aussie Rules til I was able to forget all the miserable, bullying, chauvinist, hyper-blokey, pack-mentality shite that goes with country footy. If yr a country footy hero, well, you can't get away with murder, but you can certainly get away with rape. It's the kinda thing to turn a principled young buck off footy for... oh, about 10 years.

But anyway.

I'm back. And just in time too. I'll be lodging an application to become club president after this Gardiner bloke nicks off. In fact, I'll be lodging an application to become centre half back too.

But to answer yr question: I'm not a member. Tried to buy a membership online, no good. Tried to buy a membership before the match against the Hawks, but I showed up at the G late in Q1 and although there were two Hawks tents not far off, there were no Demons tents in sight, so no good. I'll get around to it.

I do attend every home game, unless I'm high, low, or flat out sideways.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
