Whether the Saints, who also have an interest in Melbourne's Chris Johnson, are prepared to go as far as offering their first-round selection (pick nine) to Geelong for Blake was unclear last night but they were conceding that they will need to trade given the interest from Richmond, among others, in the follower.

like every player you trade them for the right price... we won't get much for CJ, and I feel he is a player which Bailey will get a lot more out of, so i hope we don't trade him... will wait and see though...

CJ's been taken to China along with other youngsters in Dunn, Bate, Newton and Frawley as part of a leadership development. I can't see him going anywhere, and like everyone else hold high hopes for him becoming the player we want him to be.

Agreed. You don't undertake the cost of sending a young bloke like him to China to give him away for what would be an ordinary offer from the Saints anyway. He has far more upside than many of us think and I have a feeling that, under a new coach, this kid will go places (other than to China) with his football.

He has so much to give and I believe DB will unleash the Demon in him and we will see what he really has to offer.

I'm a big CJ fan.

I think his trade value will be minimal, and the value he represents at Melbourne is higher. With Bailey's guidance he can become a very good player, given that he already has a decent skills- set.

Of course if St.Kilda want to trade Kosi for CJ....

I am a big CJ fan, but he has not done anything to prove me right. I would love to see him take his opportunities, cos he's a ripper bloke and I think could become a class half back flanker or wingman. But he needs to focus on his footy.

Green was never a ball-hungry player IMO. He wasn't going hard at the contest when he first started, but was a more opportunistic player (as most medium forwards are).

This is not a character flaw, it's just part of a learning curve.

When he was pushed into the midfield he had to learn to put his body in the contest. I'm sure he'd admit that he needed to learn to do that, it wasn't an in-built thing like it might be for Brock or was for Godfrey.

I think that CJ's biggest problem is lack of confidence. He doesn't believe that he belongs, which combined with being dropped every second week, makes for a very unsure player.

i think folk just feel they don't need to say it anymore, but wheatley is soft as butter which is not a great quality in a backman. if he had any value at all i'd trade him in a heartbeat.
