Commentators making out like we got rid of Petracca and he has something to prove.

You can blame our ex coach for that

Look we know how talented trac is & of course he's going to start well with his new team & he'd want to prove himself.

I'm finding it weird seeing bucks & Scott in a box together. The other assistants wouldn't bother putting a word in

Cameras keep going to the same single bay of GC supporters when they score a goal.

Great to see Scott and Buckley looking like a pair of grumpy old men in the box.

This must have been what it was like watching Barassi play for the Blues in '65 (Petracca this time)

It's hard to stomach but we did get 3 first rounders for him

XT, Latrelle & ????? ... just need one to be A grade (2 would be immense)

Loads of empty Suns' seats.

AFL give them everything but they still can't draw a crowd.

Heaps more in the wings as well it’s crazy. I don’t think the AFL realises the monster they’ve / will have created with how easy it’s been to pick up academy kids last few years

As dumb as the AFL are I think they actually do realise the monster they have created and I think they want that.

How can one expect Geelong to play good footy when they are forced to travel interstate to play teams they normally play at home? This game should have been played at Kardinia Park like is traditional. So unfair.

Anyone else bored by this game?

As bored as I was by last night’s game. Great start to Season 2026, AFL!

Always great to see the Cats under the pump though

Trac looking fit and in prime condition will always be a top 5 player in the comp .

We just have to suck it up for now but know we will be stronger for it in the coming years as our youngsters develop.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
