Yes we still have over 100 games experience on average in our named squad so plenty of seasoned players, hopefully they get a boost playing with the younger talent and it all comes together nicely. A lot of teams named this weekend are quite a bit younger, I read with interest King is not interested in "rebuilding".

I think I read that we're about the third or fourth oldest list in the league when you combine age and games played.

Melksham, Steele, T Mac and Mihocek certainly do the heavy lifting in that department.

Well, like it or not King will be rebuilding the team/club

Maybe not in the more traditional sense but more so in getting the team & club back on the straight & narrow

If the players all buy-in, it will make his job a lot easier. He's got the job ahead of him, but we need the buy-in

The music will just mean we are kicking goals.

And there's a fair chance that all 4 players that you mentioned will be playing lots of games too

T-Mac & Melk are 'spares' but injuries happen as does good form or poor form. Needed for depth

The interesting group are the 22-23 yo's as to whether they can establish themselves as bona-fide AFL standard players. All up, there's about 7 or 8 unprovens in that category

I'm way less concerned with the youngsters ... time/patience

But it's the senior players who will govern our W/L record. Again, there's close on 20 experienced types on the list

I do agree that those playing will be relied on a lot this season.

Can we get what we can out of Rivers, Salem, Petty, Jiath, Sparrow, Fritsch, Sharp, Chandler, Culley and others between 22 and 28. That will be the question.

I think I’m going blind… and no, not for reasons some might think (I put it down to age). You might be right about the freedom (or lack thereof) of choice; probably a limited range. And yeah, I hope to go…er, the deity of choice, that Max was taking the pizz.

What they should have done was have every player choose Country Road just to completely ruin it for Brisbane. The only time I’ve ever even slightly enjoyed that song was in the Studio Ghibli film Whisper Of the Heart, where it is sung in Japanese.

IF we're going to play a more enterprising style along with greater corridor use, we need to get our half backs, wingmen & half forwards in synch

For Salem, Lindsay & Fritsch the boundary line needs to be on their right hand side when facing our goals/forward line

For CJ, Langdon & Melksham, the boundary line needs to be on their left hand side when facing the goals/forward line

As an example, kicking across one's body can result in blind spots & interceptions

Previously, as a boundary hugging teams (with long bombs) we were best suited with an opposite set-up

Changing styles for experienced players can be difficult but it's needed

Loved Toots & the Maytals ever since I first saw the film starring Jimmy Cliff, ‘The Harder They Come’, when they did Pressure Drop. Since then I’ve seen them a couple of times: once in London’s Hyde Park and then at the Phoenician Club in Sydney. They were such a fantastic band.

One of my favourite albums is a Toots album from 2004 of duets called True Love.

At the time I was still collecting CDS, almost exuslusivey from discount bins. I bought that CD (for $5) not really expecting much as late career duets of his old stuff seemed a bit naff.

But it's terrIfic, with some awesome duets, including with Bonnie Rait, Jeff Beck, Manu Chao and Terry Hall (went back to jb hi and bought a bunch more as gifts for friends).

It's mostly versions of old songs of his and reggae standards.

But my favourite track is an outlier, a duet with Willie Nelson of a Willie song - Still is still moving me. One of my all time favourite covers (I love good cover songs):
