It's all $$$$$.

The black background of the Penrite logos against our red is pretty horrid.

But these jumper sponsors are just reflective of where we are at as a club at the moment. The more games we win (and the better time slots we are then given), the more attractive we are to sponsors, so hopefully these are not on jersey for too long! Right now we should just bank the $$ we can get and focus on winning games.

Those are hideous lol.

Tops will end up looking like NRL tops where you can't see the actual jumper just logos upon logos

Feels very odd to share a picture of the jumper without announcing the sponsors first, or have I missed something?

All those complaining.... either ante up.... or stfu

Penrite is a worthy Australian Company with a proud world beating history.

Bloody hell... this is hardly a problem.

Losing games is

I might be in the minority, but I think the Penrite appearance ain’t too bad compared to the driver depot one. Surely they could superimpose their logo on the jumper in white, so too Zurich (or at least have the background matching the blue of our jumper).

They're not their respective corporate colours.

Those logos are worth mint to them.

Thats what the $$$$ are for.

So when was the last time anyone watching Bang...bang bang bang ever considered the logos on the jumpers..

That's right....

Some need to get over themselves.... just saying.

The club didn't share it, looks like it was taken by someone at the photo day and put on instagram

I seem to remember some mention of them coming on board.

Does it really matter 🤔🤷

Maybe we should have Specsavers as a sponsor, so when the umps screw us over, we can give them discounted check ups! 🤓

How would glasses help a group that is blind see better?

I had no idea what Drivers Depot even was. Kind of expected a crypto platform. Seems it's a fuel card/booking service aimed at truckies. Anyway, good luck to them.

Penrite - Australian owned business in their 100th year - maybe they clean up those logos, sometimes they just stick them on for the photos then redesign for the real stuff. But we've sure had a lot worse sponsors over the years.

Its been suggested by a few that the $$$ are down for these sponsors, if so please expand otherwise move on pls. l haven't read it anywhere. Given Guerras business contacts it may be that its actually increased.

Its also possible the new jumper sponsor pics were deliberately leaked to create social media interest.

Our colours are worth alot to us too.

I'm not that rapped with the one on the front as it does somewhat detract from the clean red V that is so much a feature of the MFC jumper and would have rathered it elsewhere, like perhaps under the AFL logo (but I bet the AFL have some branding rule against that!).

But in the scheme of things it's not the worst outcome and I agree Penrite are not a Micky Mouse sponsor at all. I actually rarely use anything but Penrite in my personal cars (wounder if there might be any promotional offers through the club!!!).

Whaat happened to our grilld partnership / sponser? Did they run away after our first year together because we didn’t win that many games?

Probably didnt pay us like they dont pay their staff. Allegedly

I'm not sure some of people on here understand how much it costs to run a footy club.

And that corporate sponsors expect a return on the dollars invested in sponsoring a club.

KIA was a bottom of the barrel sponsor of the AO back in ....maybe 2002 paying only $2m a year. The AO was desperate. Its now over $40m

You have to build up the brand experience and the team or event has to deliver something.

There's a bunch of reasons sponsors keep dropping off. Not all to do with on ground performance.

Yikes - they look hideous

But I guess it’s just a sign of where we’re at as a club at the moment

Win some games, bring in a crowd and keep a clean house, and we’ll be able to bring in better sponsors

They look ugly.

It’s our reality though. It’s been covered on here already. We’re not an attractive proposition for sponsorship right now. So we take what we can get.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
