Not me.

I have attended the AGM for most of the last 25 years but tonight will be the second in a row that I have not attended sadly the mind is willing but the body is telling me different. I look forward to hearing from people who attend tonight. Go Dees.

Is this the meeting where people compete to ask the dumbest question imaginable? Last year someone suggested we build an old folks home for supporters at Caulfield, among other doozies. Might tune in for a laugh.

LOL. The stupid questions have started early.

Thank god that’s over.

Could've been worse. Go Dees!

They were the most Melbourne questions ever. The woman who mentioned that she had a demon sticker on her Mercedes made me laugh.

Are people really worried about being called the Dees, or our emblem ?

This club does nothing but lie re a home base. They just kick the can down the road....... probably not accurately.

“We are close”……………we’ve been told that we’re close going on 4 years now.

Not good enough.

Just listened to Steven Smith, Paul Guera, Sally Freeman and Steven King and Mr Chippendall, very well spoken group of individuals and feel that we are in very good hands. Would have loved a bit more on Caulfield but that can wait we are financially sound and reenergised, King really handled himself well and Instills confidence.

Thanks Dezone.

I don’t know if it was said publicly but a friend of mine was there tonight and he told me he had a conversation with Paul Guerra privately during which Paul said training at Waverley is off the table and that training will be at Gosch’s and Casey until such time as Caulfield is up and running.

I was there and whilst the question could not be answered, there was a Freudian slip from COO, who said “when we are at Caulfield” when talking about the Future Fund needing to be accessed.

The financials are in order. The loss is a result of payouts to Goody and Oliver, which are included in this years figures according to accounting rules.

Kingy was terrific. Gave supporters plenty of time and was open and honest. He is a wholesome country boy at heart, but I believe he has a great knowledge of the game and will connect people.

For those teeing off on those who asked questions, it’s a very awkward setting to ask meaningful questions. If you are so concerned, get off your bum and come ask for yourself.

Also, the lady who referenced the Mercedes is a former MCC committee member and passionate supporter of the club. The Mercedes is an old 1980s Merc that she has painted with Dees logos as a bit of fun.

I randomly caught a train and was sitting opposite a really young lady kitted out in Melbourne gear so I asked her about the dees. She said she worked in the finance department. When she realised I wasn’t just trying to flirt with her and knew what I was talking about she said Kozzie has gone to another level with Latrelle there and will play mostly midfield. He will dominate this year barring injury or suspension

Kingy confirmed that Kozzy’s application on the track and dedication was unbelievable. It sounds like, despite his quiet demeanour, he is becoming a leader and will elevate even further in 2026. Kingy made a joke about him wanting to play exclusive midfield because that’s what he (KP) wants.

King also referenced Culley, saying that he can’t believe he was delisted. Said he is training to an extremely high standard. It sounds like he has emerged as a leader this summer also.

Hopefully they will upload the King video pretty soon.

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
