We need to replace May, Judd, Trac, Oliver for one. Kozzy is still a fed more than mid. Also need to add a bunch of good kickers to get the ball into the forward line. So there are higher priorities.

The club seems keen to give Adams a crack at replacing May. X Taylor hopefully replaces and improves upon Judd. Latrelle replaces Spargo and hopefully lets Kozzie play half forward not just deep forward when he's in the forward line.

We were very unlikely to replace Oliver where our picks fell. We were never going to replace Tracc.

It's probably going to take top 5 picks in strong drafts to replace those guys. Or if we're lucky a Humphrey trade.

Who do we want now with next pick?

Any chance Jack Ison slips through to our next pick?

Byrne and Ainsworth the 2 Twomey linked us with. Tai Hayes the obscure VFL player he linked us to.

Not sure this is the spot to go for needs too much but a mid who can play forward early on would be very handy. Phillipou, Allen fit the bill

Won't be Byrne given the Pickett selection

RookieMe linked us to Brodie Atkins, similar mould to Allen and Rory Wright

Definitely put the Ison bid on, then Allen, NHH, Swadling, Wright for mine, depth through the guts but also with scope to play across HF/HB

Sharkie, Bridge, Jackson Voss, Fergus McFadyen I still like for rookie picks, Flynn Riley too the Blues VFL ruckman 206cm

Thredgold you might snap up if available too given May, McDonald in final months even with the Petty move back

Max Holmes' brother is still there, along with Kickett, Rodriguez and Swadling.

Swadling looks like a real player! I noticed he was in almost every passage of okay from Farrow's highlights. All the videos watched to finally accept him and now he is going to the dons.

Swadling seems a great ball user of both feet too.

Silly question - why did it become pick 30?

Other picks before were used by clubs matching academy/fs bids. Largely GCS picks

Also good to confirm that we didn’t have a top ten pick after all.

Just want that stipulated for the record.

11 and 12.

Yeah, I’m particular and stubborn.

Have we met?

Coz you can’t say Lana backwards

First time in many years that our early picks weren’t foreshadowed in the media so this was a pleasant surprise! Really happy with Taylor sliding in particular and then the bolter in Pickett.

As mentioned, normally it’s Cal Twomey who knows exactly what we are doing in advance so I was looking through some highlights vids of Farrow and Nairn in recent days. I know it’s easy to say now, but I just couldn’t get excited about either of them. Farrow looked really good but I’m sick and tired us investing in these Perth kids, and Nairn’s kicking action and overall highlights were just… meh. Glad we ended up with our two. Glad we didn’t dangle our F1s to grab Nairn too. Nice work JT and Timmy!

Pickett was projected to go at 15 and we took him at 12

Hardly a reach. We desperately need small fwds and JT would have done his homework

Note that Cal Twomey did not make any changes with his "late mail" update. He still has us taking Farrow and Nairn.

Not often Cal get the early picks this wrong!

Very happy with our two picks. Loved that we were brave enough to take a small.

But can't help but feel Farrow might be the one that got away, really liked the look of him

Quietly relieved we didn't take Nairn. Loved his marking but didn't believe in the midfield scope, not quick or agile enough.

So he was playing ressies... Not even firsts at Glenelg... This is a punt

X Taylor is a player, will need to find his role and place in the club but Kingy should sort him out.

Latrelle is a gamble, but Kozzie didn’t do a whole lot in his draft year. No club is better placed to get the most out of him and he’s got some genuine moves - and we sure have genuine needs.

CDT was playing basketball last year. Robey was playing local U18 at the start of the season. Are they both punts or gambles??

I think Pickett is a punt in that most would have had Dovaston in their sights but this is where JT earns his money.

A punt but a very healthy punt. Plenty of upside, not disappointed with the pick at all.

Helps we've got 2 first rounders (one of which should be pretty high) next year.

Farrow went before our picks so he didn’t get away, he was never available.

My reason for this comment is, he is nearly 20, playing mostly ressies in the SANFL and was really only the second half of the year he got firing.
I'm not saying its a bad choice, its a ballsy one tho.

CDT played exceptional footy in the Coates league last year, hence he came in to the year a number 1 pick fancy.

Robey is a bit of gamble on a limited sample size with no champs. But he ticks a lot of boxes in terms of character and work rate.

If a SANFL ressies player who hasn't stuck in the elite system isn't a gamble then I don't know what is?

It says a lot about the overall draft class in 2025 and how JT and co viewed it. Pick 12 is pretty early to be going for mature age players and there probably weren't many standing out but if there was a year to reach this was probably it.

I'm not all that convinced that we would have selected Farrow if available.

Latrelle is 182cm not 170cm as has been widely reported

If he improves his marking capabilities, he could become a medium sized forward along with terrific ground skills

Much like his cousin, quite versatile. The quintessential project player

We live in hope
