My premature prediction is Farrow + one of Dovaston or Pickett

at least Cumming wasn't one of your picks with that phrasing.

Players we have been linked too that havent been invited yet.

Lindsay

Dovaston

Pickett

Schubert

Marsh

Are we locking in the Cumming + Farrow double?

I would take that. HF/mid and HB/mid.

We may look at trading our GC F1 for Pickett? Maybe our 37 in the mix??

It would give us some versatility for sure, and I suspect that’s something King would rate (based on how Geelong like their players to operate)

Do you think WB would trade pick 14 for GC F1st to stock up the pics for Butters?

Wasnt Trengove suspended for a 'sling' tackle against Dangerfield who claimed concussion and then played next week and kicked 6 goals?

My strong dislike for Dangerfield started them. Its only gotten stronger

Yes we gave the Crows a touch up Mother’s Day 2011 I think it was

I wonder if Blease, Strauss, Bartram, Morton, Toumpas and all of these guys would have ultimately become better and more competent AFL players in the current MFC with the ability to develop players?

More competent yes. Validate where they were selected no. I would exclude Bartram from that bunch being he was a pick 60 who knocked out 100 games.

My point is really that we have had a massive massive group of first rounders come though the doors and a really low % of those went on to become A grade players

Not all those were high first rounders, e.g. Blease was pick 17. But you would need to compare outcomes across clubs for the same or similar picks to be making any real conclusions. There are a LOT of first-rounders who don't reach 200 games, and plenty who don't even reach 50 games.

100%

Probably need that & something else, but don’t hate it…really depends what the draft is also looking like next season - don’t want to get too caught up in going all in on one draft

Which could well mean Twomey, who is a lovely guy, has no idea what we're doing.

Or we don’t want to give away what we are doing. This stuff is cagey as I’m sure.

Which is the same thing. He doesn't know, that's the point.

Lol. Twomey doesn’t do the invite list. They ask the clubs to provide a list of the kids who will definitely be taken.

You keep missing the point. The players Cal has linked us to have not been invited so far, which could suggest he doesn't have a real read on who we'll take.

Go check out Cal's 2019 power rankings 3 weeks out from the draft.

I may be missing your point as I provided an alternative:

We may not have put a few names down because we may not want to give other teams a read on who we might take. Especially if we want to trade down.

All kinds of combinations! Top 7 are likely to be

Duursma, CDT, Robey, Grlj, Sharp, X Taylor and Cumming.

One should be available at pick 7.

Pick 8… Farrow, Lindsay and Dovaston are clearly in the mix (imv not Schubert ) , with Hibbins-Hargreaves as the smoky and Pickett as the wildcard.

Perhaps with Windsor, we already have a speedster with suspect ball use.

Farrow has the potential to slot right in at HB, has better ball use and some scope to go into the midfield later.

Dons are right in for Cumming

He’s likely a bust then. Although now that Dodoro has finally been booted he may work.

His ranking are just that. How he ranks that draft crop.

He put out his phantom a couple of days before and he gets very little wrong in the first round.

And his early selections are based on heavy intel, so not really even a ''phantom''.

Hopefully Grlj gets picked, as it’s been reported we don’t rate him. If that’s the case, it’s 2 picks from your second lot.

Hoping Lindsay is one of our picks. Whilst he is not a contested ball winner, he goes when it is his turn, especially for a mark. He's not soft. Kicking and decision making is sublime, which would come in very handy off half back

Also hoping we do GCS F1 and maybe our pick in 30s for something in the teens for Pickett

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
