Team vs. Blues

Jaded No More

Recommended Posts

Out: Neita (finger, knee and hamstring... so nothing wrong there really ;)), Bell (hammy), Green (knee), TJ (achilles)

In (from): BUCKLEY, Frawley, Dunn, Miller, CJ, Pickett, Holland

This is according to Ch.10, who claimed Buckley will make his debut.

Hoorah! :)

I'd like to see the following -

In: Buckley, Frawley, Dunn, Miller

EM: CJ, Pickett, Holland

Holland might be unlucky to miss out to Miller though. Either way we need someone we can swing both ways, given Neitz is missing up forward and down back we'll have Frawley, Bizz, and Carroll.

PS. Hopefully Warnock's getting close to a recall.

CJ has to get a game, seriously, who else needs to fall over and get injured before he gets a go?

Let's not forget, there could still be more outs. At the moment only the injured players have been named as outs, but there are a whole host of players who should probably be omitted.

I'd drop Brown and add CJ to your ins.

I'd drop Brown too, but he wasn't listed as an out :)

I fail to see what value there'd be in not naming Brown as an out if he wasn't going to play based on form.

I guess we can hope.

Could well be seeing:

2006: Frawley Petterd

2005: Jones, Buckley

2004: Bate, Dunn, Newton

2003: Sylvia, McLean, C.Johnson

That's be good!

For sure - I'm looking forward to Sunday simply to watch these guys play.

EDIT:

Complete team

I/C from: P.Johnson, Frawley, Newton, Buckley, Pickett, Holland, Dunn

If we base selection on the tried and true 'if you're named in the 18 you're a definite in', then Miller and CJ are definitely playing. From that interchange I'd choose PJ, Frawley, Netwon, and Buckley. Dunn to miss out I guess :<

Miller's named in the team so I imagine he'll play - likewise CJ.

Surely if they are looking toward 2008 Nathan Brown wouldn't play, especially after his game last weekend.

Hopefully Miller's named at Full Forward just to make sure he's in the team. I don't think he has got a position in the Forward line.

I'd like to see the final team look like this...

B: Ward, Carroll, Wheatley

HB: C.Johnson, Bizzell, Buckley

C: Bruce, McDonald, Petterd

HF: Dunn, Robertson, Bate

F: Sylvia, Newton, Davey

FOLL: White, McLean, Jones

I/C from: P.Johnson, Frawley, Miller, Godfrey

Gee it's a young side though, but throw them in the deep end and see if they can swim. Who would've thought at the start of the year that we'd be second last, caretaker coach, blooding young players by Round 14.

In: Miller, C.Johnson, Buckley, Frawley, Holland, Pickett, Dunn

Out: Neitz (knee), Green (knee), Bell (hamstring), Johnstone (something)

How's the youth policy going when Brown, Bizzell and Ward are in the team ahead of Dunn, Newton and Frawley?

Miller to play CHB, with Pickett, Holland and Dunn to miss out.

BTW, with Neita and Green both out, who captains the side?

Junior will probably get the nod given he played a great game last week, but I'd like to see McLean get another go before Neita returns (if he returns this year).

I agree - not sure what's going on there.

While you constantly call for Ward's head after pretty much every game, his form has been decent. Likewise Bizz IMO, although not as good.

Fwiw I don't see how Brown and Ward would be keeping Newton and Dunn out of the side either.

I like the ins but we need to remember that will still need SOME experience in the side. We are also making 4 forced changes already, so I doubt that Riley would drop anyone else just for the sake of the youth policy. Plus if we bring CJ, Buckley, Frawley and Miller into the team, that's 3 guys with no more than 25 games (I think), so what are we complaining about? 4 changes is enough. Brown, Ward etc. are lucky to play, but the kids need some guys with experience to lead the way.

I believe the selected side arrived in substance as an email. There's no way Miller can stand in for Neita, he simply has no forward wherewithal. He's not there on form that's for sure.

Two forwards and a back dont necessarily replace three backs.

Our fit list is effectively down to about 29 to select from. Clearly Jamar wont be played as a third ruckman so its 28. Nor will Ferguson as another key defender. Make that 27!

Brown survived due to Bell and Green not being fit and Pickett not coming up to scratch.

I hope Pickett Holland and Dunn miss. Good chance for CJ to show something. He needs to perform.

Bruce as Captain would allow Brock to focus on the basics of his game.

Wouldn't mind seeing Dunn get a bit of a go at CHB. I thought he was ok as a midfielder earlier in theyear. Just wonder if he might turn into a Chad Cornes type defender. He'd want to improve overhead though.

I have a feeling the footy department may be keen to give Frawley a full game of footy. He has only played one this year and dropped from the dees last week didn't play at all. He would be seriously low on match fitness.

For that reason my guess would be Holland, Pickett and Frawley to miss out. Frawley to come straight in after a full game with the Zebs.

I am hoping to see Miller play as a genuine Full Forward.

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
