Carlton about to hold press conference....to announce no Fevola for next week. I think an indiscretion off field. Tune into 3AW

Fevola is suspended and will not be selected this weekend, told to have a think about his future. Could be a chance he won't play another game for the carlton.

No worries about Fevola this week - Not playing - hes been suspended - his future at Carlton in doubt.

One less worry for Bomber Riley.

Hmmm, I'm still not sure exactly what he's done to deserve the suspension.

This has 'tank' written all over it.

They want our draft picks and I'll be damned if I let those scum have it.

Come on Melbourne, get beaten (you've been so good at it all year)!

Thought the same 2.

Carlton line of thought:

I'll be damn if i lose the first draft pick.

Let's drop Fevola to ensure that.

My brother is a Carlton supporter and because of that I get an inside view of what it's like having your team's fortunes hanging on a player so grossly inconsistent, irresponsible and unreliable. Not to mention overpaid and self-glorifying.

Please no. No no no no no.

No

No

No.

NO.

Carlton should trade Fevola while he has value.

I don't think Melbourne should take him on though - at 27 next year I think he's 4-5 years older than guys like McLean, Bate, etc. When they hit their peak he'll be 30+.

they are tanking for sure. how convenient. we need carlton to win another game. its going to be funny if we come across carlton in round 22 and we are trying to lose so they dont get a priority draft pick..and so are carlton so that they get one.

We don't want him.

Recruiting any player at any time involves guesswork. Even picking up Brock was a punt. And can anyone say Pickett has worked out as hoped?

But Fevola's a head case and as such, doubly risky. Can anyone bring him into line?

I recall from long distant times the tale of Phil Carman...

yes.. one difference between what we've known as MFc and say Pagans mob is that Pagan will dispose of Fev if for the greater good. and not blink !! I for one really think we ought to let some other club savour and enjoy the indioscycracies of one Brendan Fervola, half gun/ half nut !!

Pagan is also a wylie , crafty ol salt !!!!! we will have to watch him !!

I hope people aren't being serious about hoping to lose :o

I've had a gutfull of losing every week. I can't stand losing , and I hope we pump the Blues this week. Get some revenge on those punks from last year.

My comment was clearly tongue in cheek.

However, as far as I'm concerned, losing from now on is as much a positive as winning.

If we win, great, if we lose, we're one game closer to getting a good draft pick.

I don't want us to do what Carlton is doing, and tank in the most obvious of ways, but I won't be happy if we waste the rest of the season playing ordinary senior players, playing unfit players, and not playing the kids in order to win a few extra games.

We need to use this season to our advantage, and a huge advantage would be to finish bottom 3 and gain some good draft picks.

Nothing would be worse than finishing 10th.

Whether you agree with it or not, the AFL rewards clubs who have bad seasons. We should cash in on that.

This will be the worst game of the year. It will be about who wants to lose the least. We won't have Neitz, Johnstone, Green, Bell and maybe Robertson and Carlton have just dropped Fevola. This is the battle for the number 1 draft pick. Richmond have a full list to choose from now and will be out there to win games. It is very unlikely that Carlton and Melbourne will be out there to win games if Carlton lose though I think that will be the nail is Pagan's coffin.

I would go for Fevola this is the only way you can get him when he losses the plot because when he has his head screwed on he is usually awesome and a matchwinner and no one would want to get rid of him then he is worth the risk and with his mental problems he could be a bargain buy because no one will want to give up too much for such a fragile player. Is he under contract ?

If Fev could do a Cam Mooney* and settle a tad he'd be a look at at best!! But fe'vs far too easily distracted.... he's tainted meat I fear. Stay away , stay away!!

footnote... who else noted he(CM ) still finds it hard not to do that after the play niggle thing. Still he has come a long way , credit where it is due.

A draw would do it I think. :D

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
