Brett Ratten. Brett Ratten. Brett Ratten.

He has coached his own team.

He has worked under experienced coaches.

He is familiar with Melb ie. players, weaknesses and off field structure and would have a fair idea of changes he would like to make.

We would need to make an offer befor the season finishes.

If Pagan is no longer at the blues they will sign Ratten quick sticks.

If not Ratten then I would advocate taking a punt on Voss.

I will be disappointed if we get Mark Harvey I have heard that many in the business do not believe him capable of a senior role.

I have been a long time supporter of Buckley and feel kind of vindicated as both gerard healy and mike sheahan both nominated Buckley as the coach most promising.both of them are melbourne men and are as precise as anyone in analysis.I hope Gardner listens.

Viney for me. I'd like to see a demon leader leading the demons.

But most importantly, I want to see a stable assistant coaching group with good talent and support, who the new coach can be comfortable delegating to.

It's a team thing, ya know.

 Maybe we can introduce co-coaches or a coaching rotation every year

Very simple answer to this vexing question.

Michael Voss will be the next coach of the MFC.

He and Gardner will be a nice match and hit it off from the start. The board will respect his success and his hunger to prove that he can cut it at senior coaching level. Forget that drivel about spending time being an assistant and learning the ropes. Robert (dumbo) Shaw is a prime example of not the way to go.

Why wouldn't you want a champion player who once he crossed the line took no prisoners?

This is the attitude we need. Look forward, not back. Any talk of Lyon, Pagan and CC is retrograde thinking.

A rare moment, a new broom. Seize the time, take a chance.

Voss for mine and beggar the consequences.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

The Demons once again went goalless in the last quarter and were run down by the Lions at the Gabba in the final minutes of the match ultimately losing the game by 5 points as their percentage dips below 100 for the first time since 2020.

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?
