  1. I don't post often but this has got me [censored] off. I voted bad. Not because Bruce has left. If he doesn't like what we have offered then there are 16 other clubs - He put us over a barrel last time round and the club has to stick to its guns. What has raised my ire is the fact that he has screwed the club by not enabling them to get something for him in return. Poor form by Bruce when he has over a decade's relationship with the club.
  2. This would be worthless to us... My mail (from an AFL recruiter) is that this is an excellent year to trade your draft picks... take it or leave it but i trust this news and therefore would be looking for higher picks or a player.
  3. I for one will wait for confirmation.... for the conspiracy theorists out there.... interesting that CH 9 are the ones to push this story at a juncture where the clubs image is paramount for future decisions.
  4. From what I understand after tuesdays set of interviews a clear leader emerged and they let him know he was a good head in front of the rest. Ideally we want a coach for the future... not just the next 2-3 years. Everytime our team goes through this process it is destabilised a little.... Lets build for continued success. Bailey will surprise many "livid" supporters here.... Pull your heads out and stop cracking the sads over something you clearly know nothing about... I am interersted to hear though that Connolly may be offered the football managers position. I think that may be the ideal role for him.... He has a wealth of knowledge that will be available to the coaching staff and lets face it... We are welcoming home one of our own.
  5. I don't normally post unsubstantiated news... The only reason I am posting this here is because if you are like me you would really like to know the outcome. My mail is that Bailey as good as has the job. he is preferred by the panel and without a major board refusal or the like he is in. (from a 'sauce' who i trust and don't care if you think it is my primary school teacher or the owner of the milk bar down the street) anyway I thought you might like to know or at least to think about it.
  6. Haven't seen the papers yet however on my count at the match Jones was caught holding the ball 5 times... That counts as a negative score either clanger or freee kick against so I am not surprised. Jones kept putting his head down and trying to break tackles and maintaining possession too long. The reason why this was forgivable and hence the listing in the best was the lack of options presented to him by his teammates. He managed to win the conteseted footy but felt he had to go alone as there was a lack of run and leads from fellow players the filth were tackling well and he was caught... again and again and again..
  7. That ends now.... Now we have a chance to get rid of the flakey title. The message of the new football department should be "Incosistency will not be tolerated"

*just a hint* you might want to check how to correctly spell the name of the man you want to coach.
  9. Has anyone else noticed that a lot of Hutchinsons interviews are paparazzi-esque... Cornering football celebrities in carpark, following them as they walk away... Not a fan.. personally I think he is a smug little so and so who lacks moral fibre.
  10. 1) 3 players from the past ten years who you hate/hated seeing in other team colours. Thompson, Arma, Farmer 2) 3 current players you would like to see in other team colours. Ferguson, Ward, Jamar 3) 3 current players you would cry if you saw in other team colour. Brocky, Neita, Davey
  11. Whether they are successful or not in poaching CAC this is the perfect chance for the club to develop and invest in our recruiting department. Currently one of the most underfunded in the league we need to move forward. IMO we should do our best to keep CAC, and by increasing his budget for recruiting might be a way of doing that.
  12. Personally I don't want him but I would be worried if the club responded purely to a petition... If they did choose him I would imagine they had a pretty good set of reasons considering some of the names on the market. Considering how he has done this year with a pretty talented list, one of the best home ground advantages and a fair sized football department spending account I am disappointed and cannot see how he can bring success to Melbourne. My two cents..

Don't joke... said on SEN yesterday he wants to start when he hangs up his boots.
  14. I agree entirely... My post was in no way a criticism of the board and I am surprised at TonyMelb's diatribe. The situation was inevitable after PGs comments on Saturday and every step from then has been handled as professionally as possible. (whether PG was right in letting it out in that interview is another question) The media has been unable to stick the boot in to the club (despite some radio presenters doing their best) I have just been surprised at the accuracy of the predictions in the big paper. It doesn't upset me, it has been accurate and in no way inflammatory and reeks of a back door media prerelease.
  15. Thankyou Neale. He has always my favourite person to hear speak about football, no empty platitudes, open and honest on every issue including his own future. He has given the mighty dees his all. In everything he has done he has been honest and put up with more than a 10 year coach probably should. Thanks for everything and I wish you success in your next coaching appointment (except in matches against the dees).
  16. I agree the journalism has been good and not the normal cries that the club is in shambles. I was just suggesting that it also has been extremely accurate. The Age (including Caro) are on the money the day before official announcements. If this has been a controlled leak to our CEOs old paper then this is not ideal but in my book its ok, or if it is coincidence then that is some damn good reporting... however if this is people telling tales out of class then it needs to be stopped quick smart.
  17. no thanks. The upside would be he demands respect hwever he is an old school coach in a changed era... not for me.
  18. I noticed.... not pretty... Caro who had it almost spot on yesterday now predicts that after todays meeting Daniher will get a farewell match and then a caretaker coach will be appointed. Lets see what happens
  19. Brett Ratten. Brett Ratten. Brett Ratten. He has coached his own team. He has worked under experienced coaches. He is familiar with Melb ie. players, weaknesses and off field structure and would have a fair idea of changes he would like to make. We would need to make an offer befor the season finishes. If Pagan is no longer at the blues they will sign Ratten quick sticks. If not Ratten then I would advocate taking a punt on Voss. I will be disappointed if we get Mark Harvey I have heard that many in the business do not believe him capable of a senior role.
  20. Long time lurker on sites that talk about the mighty dees. Read about it on bigfooty many moons ago (don't go there anymore... I get too angry) I generally dont post much (also causes me to get angry). Sadly not female (sadly for the poll's sake, personally i am quite happy)
  21. You must mean the mighty Chris Heffernan. Geez what a player!
  22. I disagree... He should play the game as it comes up. Firstly can you imagine the big fella sitting out perfectly fit on the sidelines? I think he'd go mental not being out there. In the end its just a game. For a truly home game it would have to be at the G and that aint gonna happen. Let it happen naturally.
