Brisbane - Voss, Leppitsch

Carlton - Brittain, Ratten, Bolton, Teague

Essendon - Knights, Hird, Rutten

North - Shaw, Noble (Laidley and Scott did make finals)

Melbourne - Bailey, Neeld

Gold Coast - McKenna, Dew

St Kilda - Watters, Richardson

West Coast - too early to tell on McQualter

Fremantle - have gone both ways and the only really successful was Lyon who got them to a granny who was a second timer. Otherwise they've gone first timers throughout their history which is now 30 years without saluting.

GWS have only had first timers since Sheedy and both Cameron and Kingsley have been relatively successful.

Most of the rest have had good stability for a decent period - Geelong Thompson/Scott; Hawthorn Clarkson/Mitchell; Swans - Roos/Longmire/Cox

It's easy to get it wrong with a first timer. Of the second or third timers currently -

Voss - prelim

Lyon - finals in first year then a reset

Clarkson - nothing yet

Brad Scott - nothing yet

Hardwick - finals

Melbourne - Roos, Goodwin 2014 - 2025 saluted in 2021, finals in 2018, 2022 & 2023.👍😁

    It’s not misinformation if they were told something that doesn’t come true. You’d have to prove they knew it wasn’t true.

    Irrespective of the recent conjecture as to whether someone may or may not have excused themselves from consideration, our candidates do seem to be dropping like flies.

    Does anyone have a feel for whether we are informing candidates that they have been unsuccessful, or whether they are dropping out after receiving unsatisfactory answers to pertinent questions?

    I did see a clip of Paul Roos during the week suggesting that all candidates should be asking the board to provide full disclosure of our cultural shortcomings, both perceived and actual.

    Most likely them being advised they’re not progressing and allowing them to withdraw. Would have been a pre-requisite for Buckley coming into our process.

    I’d say whittle down to final 3, then an announcement from there

    Of course we may have rejected the terms demanded by an applicant.

    Makes sense if you take a step back

    But I must admit to knowing nothing

    It had to be Buckley.

    There is no way he did not make the short list (maybe 2 names) to go to the Board for approval

    Yep. Guessing they’d have taken the 3 standouts which sound like it was Buckley, Kelly and lade. If Buckley was the favourite he may have been offered the role and decline which is odd. Why go through all this only to say no?

    If he did get offered it and turned it down maybe the interview from his side didn't go down well.

    I don’t want to jump to conclusions but I’d be [censored] off at Bucks IF this was the case

    Not sure why he would go this deep into the process unless he was 99% sure he wanted the job

    Meanwhile there are assistants chomping at the bit for a senior coaching interview, who have potentially been cost a shortlist because of Buckley’s indecision

    I’ll stop myself there because it’s still an IF, but not liking how this has shaped if it turns out to be true

      A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

      Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
