Oooh! Getting close!

I will be tempted to give him MBMH status, now vacated by former MBJMcV) if we get him, and various trackside-interviewed players nominate him during pre-season as the dark-horse, leaps-and-bounds improver.

Fremantle have set the market for unproven ruckmen with the Liam Reidy trade. Max Heath's value should be similar.

Not sure why this would be a difficult conversation, nor why we haven't commenced negotiations yet.

Surely we want to get this one locked away, because Petracca and Oliver are likely to take a lot of time and effort to finalise.

Saints have: 50 and 65

We have: 42, 61 and 66

If the Saints are open to 61 for 65 then we’ve got a deal.

Otherwise no harm keeping as many balls in the air as possible to get what we can from GWS as well as GC.

I would try and get Steele thrown into the deal and we pay $500k of his salary for the two years left.

He is a salary dump who might refuse to go, so buyer has upper hand, like with Clarry.

Let’s get it done. Trade in the Spargo compensation pick 43 for him

We have the Bison

Let’s go get the Moose

Happy North America GIF by BBC America

try and give the 60’s picks

bundle 43 with 24, 28 and the clarry pick (assuming it’s 40ish) to goldcoast with trac and take picks 7 and 8

As always Tim Lamb getting screwed

That 2027 4th round pick is probably the next Gary Ablett Jnr!

That’s good business there. Nice work Lamby

Welcome Moose, may you combine the marking ability of Max Gawn with the gritty determination of Shelley Heath.

Makes Fullerton and Shacke a little more palatable at least.

He actually just wanted to be the first list manager in history to trade a 2027 pick! Congrats TL.

Can't believe we'll be without a 4th Round pick in 2027. Gutted.

Real shame, too, because when we win the flag in 2027 that could be quite a high pick.

...and I believe that is history-making: the first trade in the new '2-years-out' trade system. A record forever Tim Lamb's.

Glad Max has come in to assist Max, in the event that both Max and Max play a game together hope we get maximum cohesion.

If Max is injured I wonder if Max will play or if they will select Tom.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
