Dear Nathan Buckley

Would you like to come to the footy this weekend

Ed's comments might be a sign to me that the boys might come out flat on Sunday. Other may interpret it differently.

'Not sure I would agree with that': Demon unconvinced by...

Melbourne premiership star Ed Langdon isn't convinced a new coaching voice was needed to steer the Demons back into the finals mix

Feel this could be a blow out now. The sacking of Goody would have flattened a lot of players. I expect a terrible first half before a bit of a response after half time to then end with a 10 goal loss.

Selection and where players line-up this week will be interesting.

Goody was loved by the players - so it's not a surprise. But that may have been part of the problem.

Spargy pants - papers stamped?

MJ get a gig?

Come on @WERRIDEE , are you up for the challenge?

Hasn't Ed got a life time ban from speaking publicly? Hopefully it is a once-only connected to his milestone game.

Going to see the real nature of some aspirants as well as 'part of the furniture ' types come Sunday.

Any sooki-lalas need not bother in 26.

I have hopes well see some professional sportsmen knuckle down to the job at hand.... playing to fly the flag and their right to wear the jumper.

Go Dees

I'm surprised there's not discussion about Troy Chaplin. Troy has been an MFC assistant coach for 8 years and has a very good relationship with the players. He was the architect of our flag winning defence, successfully introducing and implementing the total team defence concept. He transitioned to the offensive coach for the 2025 season. Our offence has improved significantly as the season has progressed.

Despite having Alan Richardson's guidance, the AFL Coaches Association CEO, Alistair Nicholson, will ensure Troy will have one or two mentors to help him with the transition. Richardson is accountable to the Board. The mentor(s) will be focused on supporting Troy as a coach and a person. One mentor will be an ex-coach and Alistair is likely to give Troy a few options. The other mentor may be someone in the system who has experienced being thrown in the deep end as an interim coach.

It's my understanding Troy has aspirations to be a head coach. So these three weeks become very important.

Also, the next three games become a test of player leadership - Gawny, Viney, Trac, Melk, TMac and off-field Lever and Maysie.

All those saying the Dogs will whoop us are implying we lack player leadership. Frankly, our on-field leadership was lacking in the 4th quarter against St Kilda and at other times this season.

Elite sport is so much between the ears. I'm quietly confident Chaplin and the player leadership will deliver. This Dogs game is intriguing.

With Maysie back next week, I'm wondering if the Dogs game may be TMac's last as a player...

Sincerely hope not.

I'll go to the game just in case...

Selection going to be fascinating... maybe.

Who’s going to coach / talk to the backline at 1 /2 time instead of Chaplin?

Lever?Chocco?

Premiership coach Chocco could be a mentor

Lever?Chocco?

Chaplin is the forward coach now, so hopefully Lever is not involved in that.

I would think Melksham could help out whether he is playing or not (hamstring playing up?). He's been involved in coaching during his ACL recovery.

Besides Chaplin can still talk to the forwards then bring the group together. And we also have Williams and Richo who can help out.

Team selection tonight is going to be so interesting. I'm most intrigued to see if Chaplin, as forwards coach and now senior coach, plays Jefferson or a different forward mix.

10 minutes since teams dropped and no one’s posted? Sign of the times huh.

In: Jefferson, Adams, Campbell

All on the extended bench with McVee, Windsor,Oliver, Petty and Sharp

So… no change then

Disappointing. If I knew I was coach for only 3 weeks I’d go absolutely wild.

Kosi in the ruck. McVee to FF. Max Gawn on the wing.

It’s maybe why they haven’t called me about the coaching job yet 😬

Well the guys who played against StKilda can redeem themselves by playing well against a finals 8 side 130% means nothing

You have to realise they have only done this to ruin PF’s time in London and keep him suspended in anticipation, I would go and see Rocky Horror Picture Show It’s still on

And if they do then that's a backhander to supporters they get paid enough to do what they are employed to do.
