He should not have played this week. Barely trained all week and was surprised they didnt being in McStay

McRae knows his list has zero depth.

No other reason to play Howe, Mihocek or Pendelbury

Massive risk that backfired beautifully

Maybe. Don't play injured!

Agree. He clearly wasn’t right and it showed. The Pies take a risk and it failed tonight.

Hopefully a window just closed.

Especially with the new machete laws

A Gaping hole was exposed with a 37 y.o Pendlebury missing the entire match.

Once Pendles and Sidebottom retire its going to hit them very hard.

Whilst I don’t believe BM will be the best pick up we could have, I think he would be handy.

Tonight people are ripping into him, when he’s up against one of the best defence teams in the game, who won it last year and are in another gf. Bit still to be saying “rubbish idea”.

Have a look at our forward line and tell me we don’t need as much help as possible.

A pies fan put online, our recruiting officer must be on crack if we're offering brody a 3 year deal.

I am typically very much for taking a risk when there's no draft picks needing to be spent

I'd take the punt on him for 2 years. The Age article suggested there would be a trigger for a 3rd year, so basically it's up to us at that point whether he goes on.

I can see where you’re coming from. Also we have tried for a few years to get a key forward in and he is the only one we have got one the hook.

But…. We already have Melksham on the books who has only averaged 12 games over the past 5 years and is now a year older. Also we made this play before with McAdam who can’t get in the park. So I don’t think we are in a position to take a punt on a 33 year old with injuries. Worst case we are paying a fair chunk of our cap on 3 players on the injury list.

I’m more in favour of planing for the future rather than next year. We are still paying for Gus, possibly paying for some of Tracs wage should he leave and as I said before have McAdam not playing.

They should have used that new forward of theirs. Can’t recall his name. But looked good when he debuted.

Mihocek for May. No salaries being subsidised either way.

Get it done.

Why not! No more than a 2 year deal.

$650-700k a year, he's not worth more than that.

I’d be interested who would be more beneficial to us in 2026?

May at full back or Mihocek at full forward?

I think our list management needs to be thinking beyond

He wasn’t 100% & penedles I’d say was already carrying a calf coaches never learn playing injured players in a prelim

We have 4 names that could all be best 22 key backs (Lever, Petty, Disco, McDonald). There's a world where Adam's and/or Derksen (should he actually exist) make the grade too.

We only have 1 guy who is a permanent fixture as a key forward (and even that may be debatable) in JVR.

Half the team would be carrying niggles as this time of year. It’s a calculated risk

True but only 1 year and we are offering 2 with a third depending. unless things have changed.

McRae said after the game they have offered him 2 years.

I hope he stays.

Be nice to try at least one of our key backs as a forward.

Your 💯 right.

We couldn't attract a youngish key forward in our pomp years now we are looking at 33 y.o.

In saying that he started his career in the AFL later on.

He also has the same birthday as me so I'll give him that. 😂

He was 24 y.o making his AFL debut so he would easily have 2 years left in the tank.

Not sold on the 3 year deal on the table for him, has to have a performance condition on a 3rd year of a potential deal.

Coming back from injury I think. Maybe to soon and should have not played.

Along with Pendlebury, who was limping before the game start. Sad really😏

That makes at least two of us Mr. Leg.

Feels odd we are after him with a three year deal but are getting rid of May.

I get the feeling there is more involved with May than form/ ability.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
