We drop a 46 point lead to a bottom 4 team and the only changes we make are resting a 19 year old and omitting the sub, yet I'm not surprised.

There's a reason why we are where we are. These selections put a exclamation mark on it.

Petty still in 🤮

Meanwhile Jeffo had 7 scoring shots in the VFL this weekend (and a hanger!) and can’t get a look in

I wonder what has to happen before the FD realise they keep putting a poor side on the field week in week out. After playing the poorest last quarter in the history of the AFL they make 2 changes. One of which is Sharp who has proved at 2 clubs that he is not up playing at senior level. Good delivers us.

It’s simple Spargo not on = 46 up. Spargo on = 6 down.

Congratulations to Harry Petty for continuing to defy any form of logic and playing your 16th 2025 game as a forward whilst kicking 12 goals. Whatever you have on Goody and Richo must be good.

Best of luck to Jai on debut.

Sharp deserving of return with 5 goals. Granted likely earns him the sub vest once again.

Really really disappointed that the gutsiest move they could come up with was dropping Spargo and a first year player who has run out of juice

So Spargo is dropped " must be the reason we lost" and is replaced by Sharp who was dropped the week before "for losing the Carlton game". I really expected the club to make a statement at selection this week.

This proves my point last week that Spargo is a terrible sub choice. His role and the way he plays isn’t dynamic enough to make an impact playing one quarter. It’s setting him up to fail.

Spargo’s best asset is his smarts. He’s good at drawing his opponent and clearing space and using the ball inside 50. But he’s a low accumulator and has no damaging traits in terms of speed or versatility. He’s just never going to set the world on fire as sub. Feel bad for him that he got dropped when he played one quarter, where the ball was going everywhere but near him.

And he doesn’t kick goals anymore - seems to have lost power with his kicking

Xavier Herbert has found the year pretty solid, ( and seems to have been struggling a bit lately) in my opinion. However he , Langdon and the Duke will be terrific players for the Dees once they get rid of their "L" Plates. Be interesting with Jai , big body ,so gives us more strength.

Gutless, insipid and pathetic selections, but wait Petty and Van Rooyen will kick a few vs a WAFL Reserves team and the coach will proclaim himself a messiah!

Generous of you.

How patriarchy works 101.

The only people complaining about women's sport are **checks notes** men.

How patronising of you

This is how 🐃💩 works.

Only people.... who's [censored] did you pull that whopper out of.

There is widespread disappointment and concern that Women's footy ( and I've no issue with that..) is being hollowed out in order to amass optics.

It needs a lot of work. Suggest you actually talk to some in the game Bing.. there's genuine issues and complaints. A lot from... Women.. they being particularly involved as well as a subset of People.

You have a lot of interesting stuff in your comments.. this wasn't one

I knew it was all Spargos fault we lost last week.

He obviously wasn't involved in those 4 golden mins of the last qtr then ??

DubDee. It doesn't worry me how much women want to play football, I don't mind how much they play. What annoys is the amount the AFL is throwing at it. On top they are expanding it too fast the skill pool is stretched way beyond what will give games to watch. we have games with low skill levels that turn into defensive struggles with low scoring. Just develop it at a slower pace then the games might become watchable.

Alarming similarities to the AFL, in addition to that a potential ten team finals system.

Ironically he actually was. Laid a good tackle.

But once again, the senior players who failed to stand up get a free pass from the coach.

My god.. if you couldn't hate the season any more and the weekly selection blunder then this just tops it off.

Would like to see Luker also debut but guessing not.

That would been an idea against the bottom table team.

I never said Sharp was the right option nor should he play again this season. But your response that Spargo was the right sub choice because hes a defensive forward is a simply a poor choice. Hes a genuine slow plodder who added nothing when he came on. He either plays a full game or hes at Casey. There is no in between.

That's the only place he should ever play from here Dazzle

A very handy 2021 contribution and will always be a flag champ but imho the game's well and truly gone past him now.

Absolutely perplexing selection last week by the SC with no integrity based on performance vs the Blues the week before.

The SC is watching a different Casey team to me of late. Either that or Simon just refused to even look and just keeps going back to the 2021 well most of the time expecting players from then will somehow miraculously find their 2021 form if played at senior level often / long enough.

He also doesn't hit the scoreboard and can't kick beyond 35 meters or so.

At least put a dynamic player in as sub who can have an impact off the bench and brings some sort of dangerous asset to the table.

A dour plodder is the last person you want as sub but Simon seems to think otherwise.

Not smart enough to get many possessions though

It's amazing.

One of the most embarrassing losses I can remember and we fiddle at the fringes.

Huge calls at selection this week! Great to see the coach/match committee make a statement after last week's debacle. Especially excited to see Petty given a chance to backup his 5 possession game (none inside 50) from last week.

You're gonna wanna be there on Saturday, this will be one for the ages.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
